"Bloody Hell!" I yell and shove all the papers off the table. "Can someone explain to me how all my hard work goes up in flames and comes spiraling down in a shit storm?!" The room stayed quiet at my angry outburst. I could not believe how far they had lost control of the people. The vampires were revolting, there are strange mysterious killings that no one seems to know who's behind it, the hunters breached contract, the werewolves have gone rogue and the damned witches went off into seclusion. It was in chaos and the only thing keeping them all together had been my awakening. People demanded to speak with me, to have me fix things. I start pacing the room in frustration, trying to come up with a plan to salvage everything. "I want a report from every person in here in my hand in a weeks time. Report every major thing, and every insignificant thing. The castle doors will open tomorrow and I want this place packed from morning to dusk. Richard! Go withdraw a shit ton of money. I want the killings and the Vampire revolting factions investigated as of yesterday! Get me the witch in charge and set up a private meeting with her. All demands go through me, You all know your duties, now get to it. We will reconvene in three days time. Dismissed!" I said leaving the room and going to the library where all records were kept.
Again, I start pacing the library, opening my mouth and closing it many times. "I literally do not have the words to describe what I'm feeling right now." I say looking at Richard. "You better have a damned good explanation for locking me up with a forced slumber for so long." I cross my arms over my chest and lean back against the wall next to the window.
"Alright...Well you probably don't even remember. We were in London, we had just finished up a successful meeting with the strongest pack of wolves there and secured us an alliance. You said we should celebrate, so we went out..."
"I remember all of that. It was a tough contract but we managed to secure it."
"Yeah, anyways, we were on our way back to our lodgings when we were attacked by a lone person. It was a woman. She had said something strange something about being sorry but she had to? She lunged at us, aiming for me first since I was closest. You yelled something I couldn't understand other than the don't let her touch me part. I kinda blacked out after you shoved me so hard. When i came to a couple minutes later, she was pulling something out of your body, and the screaming coming from you was inhuman and fucking scary. She looked at me with this crazed look before leaving, unfinished. I'll never forget those eyes. I had to have five Witches, FIVE, to get you to calm down enough so that we could get you home. It was at the suggestion of the temporary council and the witches, that we forced you into slumber after you destroyed half a town with your bare hands. It was unlike anything I had witnessed."Richard retold the story as if it had just happened. "It was dangerous to have you awake. Whatever that woman did to you, fucked you up really really bad. I think those mysterious killings is her doing. We've had reports of a woman being sighted leaving the scene sometimes."
Richard was right. I could not recall a single thing after securing the contract. My head hurt just thinking about what Richard had said I had done. I looked out the window. "Was anyone killed?" I whisper.
"Not a single one."
I released a big sigh of relief and didn't answer. After a few moments of silence, I grinned.
"So...Who is the young woman whose scent is all over you, you sly dog!" I laugh. "You have fun while I'm asleep with no woman to warm my bed." I waggle my eyebrows at him.
"Stop, It's not like that!"Richard laughed. "I'm in a serious relationship at the moment."
"How serious?"I question, squinting my eyes at him and looking him over. Richard lifted his hand and wiggled his fingers playfully, a wedding band on his ring finger.
"No fucking way, you bastard!" I yell and grab his hand in a blink of an eye, the papers flutter off the table and the curtains fly open from my sudden burst of speed across the room.
"How dare you get married and not invite me!"I hissed dropping his hand. "I'm not speaking to you."I pout, walking to the other side of the room upset.
"Oh come on! Don't say that when you and I both know your gonna speak to me again in as little as a minute. Don't tell me you don't want to meet her? She's been dying to meet you."
"What'd you do, knock her up?"I joke. "Oh my goodness you didn't... but you did! Unbelievable. Truly I am at loss for words"
"That happened after we got married! You have no trust in me my god!"Richard exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. We both burst out laughing. I push my hair from my face.
"Alright alright, I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions, not that I was far off or anything." I reply sarcastically. "Tell me more. How did you meet? How badly did she reject your pretty boy looks?"I laugh.
"I'll have you know I was not rejected as you so meanly put. I meet her during an auction. She works for a gallery that auctions off art and antiques with her mother. I wanted to she her again....so I went and auctioned something." He said cringing under my intense stare.
"What of mine did you auction?!"
"That little antique jeweled Russian egg, the painting of the castle, the old rocking chair and the portrait of you..."He says getting quieter as he listed.
"Wha...YOU!...Those are my things what the fuck! I'll have you know that egg was a gift from Anastasia of Saint Petersburg herself."I say pointing at him. "A-And that rocking chair! I made that for you! You would not sleep unless I rocked your pain in the ass to sleep. The painting, a memento from when the castle was finished. And Oh My God... that portrait!" I kept that hidden, I could not throw it away but I also couldn't look at it without feeling heart broken. Who knows whose hands it's in now.
"They agreed not to sell them calm down! I know how nit picky you are about your things so I made it a condition to not sell them. Display purposes only."
"Yes because that's supposed to make me feel better."I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"Please tell me it wasn't the half naked portrait of me. Please please please..."I whine.
"If I had known there was one, I would have given it to them!"He laughs hard. "Why do you have that kind of portrait?"Continues laughing.
"She liked painting me after we...That's besides the point!"I say feeling embarrassed as hell, but thankful it wasn't that painting.
"And who liked painting you after you guys..?"Richard said grinning.
"Which one did you hand over?"I say changing topics.
"The one with you sitting in a chair, reading a book. Who ever this artist was, they are really good at bringing out the full you in their paintings. Not only was it beautifully portrayed but it was so life like , I felt like you were right there with me."
"I see. That one is fine then."I murmur, lost in thought.
"Rosalie is meeting us for dinner tonight, if you're up for it."Richard asked.
"Sure I'm up for it. I wanna leave the castle so badly"I say shaking my thoughts away.
"Are you still mad?"Richard asks.
"I'm mad that I wasn't able to be there for the wedding. I'm glad you grabbed a hold tight on your special someone."
"What about you dad? Did you ever find that special someone?"He asked quietly. My thoughts drifted to The Lady.
"Unfortunately for me, I was unable to keep my special someone." I reply solemnly. I sent him off so that I could be alone with my thoughts.
