**Greyson POV**
Lardito's is always a crowded place on the weekend. Between the bar and the great pizza why wouldn't it be? As I pulled into a parking spot I put my car in park. I turn down the radio and look at myself in the rear view mirror. "You can do this, don't be a dork." I pep talk myself in hopes of making the nerves go away. I always got nerves on the first date.
Getting out of my car and locking it, I eagerly walk towards the entrance. I went over Sam's description of her in my head. It was not a lot to go off of but I guess I could make it work. Just as I anticipated the place was packed. Men all over the bar and music playing. "Just great." I mumbled to myself.
I looked all around the room till my eyes met another pair. Brown. Thats what I was looking for! Maybe it's her. I confidently walk over and ask her "Are you here for a blind date? You look like you'd fit the description my friend gave me." If it was her, the simple description did not do her justice. I have been out with many women but she was radiant. Her long hair was straight, but not pin straight and her makeup was done so lightly it only complimented her beautiful eyes. I was too busy staring, her pale skin and dress looked amazing.
"What was the description?" She asked breaking me out of the daze. I slightly adjusted on the uncomfortable barstool, comparing her to the description made me let out a laugh. "It wasn't a good one, I was told to look for the clueless girl with brown hair and eyes."
She looked almost offended at what I said. Did I say something wrong? "I am not clueless, I just haven't done this dating thing in awhile." She retorted. I didn't know what to say back to her so I called the bartender over and ordered a drink. Luckily those drunk, sloppy days are behind me now that I am twenty-three. I was just about to order her a drink when I realized I didn't know her age.
"What would you like? You are old enough to drink correct?" She nodded her head and ordered for herself. Vodka and tonic, not too bad. She looks to be about twenty but with the way she ordered it seems she has some experience. Not knowing what to say, I blurted "Hmm... a vodka lady. I figured you would be more of a wine girl."
She gave me a small smile and replied "I am but I do not drink it out in public. Don't ask me why." I nodded my head and turned to fully face her. I forgot to ask the number one question. "What is your name?"
She opened her mouth to answer but the bartender arrived with our drinks. We both mumbled a thank you and took a sip of our drinks. "Clara." She finally replied. "What is yours?"
I looked down at my cup of Scotch on the rocks and began to spin it. "Greyson." I replied nonchalantly.
"Want to go get a table?" I asked. Once she nodded in agreement I got up and started walking through the crowd. After a few seconds I turn around to find her gone. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around mumbling "God damn it, I knew I walk too fast." After a minute or two I finally find her. Just as I was about to tap her shoulder she starts to back up and turn around, running right into me. As soon as our bodies touched I felt a shock through me.
"Mate" I growled. Oh my god, she's the one. I must protect her. This time, instead of walking away I grabbed her hand and began to slowly walk to a table feeling shocks the whole way.
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry I walked away so fast. I should have made sure you were right behind me." I truly felt guilty. Not a good first impression.
"I am fine, but there are some creeps in here." She stated. That explains a lot, that is why she was backing up and ran right into me. She was afraid. That set me off, no one hurts or creeps out my mate. "Did someone touch or hurt you?" I was going to go and rip them apart if they did. Before she could even answer I had to get out of there. "Let's go, this is not a god place." I grabbed her hand and pulled her outside.
I felt better once we got outside. I would protect her and no one was around to do harm. She looks up at me with anger. "What are you my father?" She begins. Oh god, what did I do now? "Back off dude, I literally just met you a few minutes ago and your acting like my guardian. Let me guess? You're one of those guys that has to be in control all the time?" Ouch. "Well I don't work that way so good night."
No one has ever talked to me like that. Just as I was about the reply she ripped my hands off of her and started stomping off to her car. I wanted to run after her, I wanted to fix everything. I figured it would only make matters worse though. I stood outside and watched my mate drive away.
Once her car was out of sight, I snapped out of it and ran to my car, pulling out my phone. "Sam, we gotta talk man." before he had time to answer I began to talk again "I found her, I found my mate."
"That's great dude, I was going to stay with Eve tonight but I will come home so we can talk about this." I heard the excitement in Sam's voice, we have been friends since we were pups and when he found his mate I was just as happy for him. "Besides her and Clara are in Evelyn's room talking about your date. They won't let me in, Eve will understand if I come home." My stomach dropped. She's talking about our date. She didn't seem happy when she left.
Ten minutes later and I was home. The thing about my home is that it's secluded, you don't know it's even hear until someone points it out. My house is the biggest on the land, that is because that is where all the high ups stay. Like the Beta, and even some of the warriors. It also has the safe house for times when rouges attack or anything like that.
"Grey, you're finally home! How did it go?" My sister Kahara shrieked. Yes, I know for some its considered odd to be so close with your sister but when your parents die when you are sixteen and you only have your sister, she becomes your world.
"I found my mate, she is the one." I proudly state. "I might have scared her though. I didn't mean to." I sigh. Why did I have to be so protective?
"Because we love her and would rather die than see her hurt." My wolf Baine responded. I rolled my eyes. It was supposed to be an open ended question, I didn't want an answer.
"What did you do?" Kahara asked and I told her how the night went. "You idiot!" she shouted. "It will be okay though, she's your mate. They come around after a bit."
I narrowed my eyebrows at my little sister. "How would you know?" Her eyes went wide and she knew she screwed up. Yes we are close but I don't like her dating. Even if it is her mate.
"I love you big brother?" She whimpered.
"You're only eighteen Kahara!" I roared. "You just became of age, there is no way!" Okay I know I sound like a jerk, but it's my sister we are talking about here. I was about to continue going off on her until I noticed her eyes start to water. "Kahara, I'm so...."
"Save it." She blinked the tears away and snarled. There was no use in replying. She ran upstairs and slammed her bedroom door. "Teenagers." I heard a voice snort. I turned around to see non other than Sam.
"How's my Beta doing?" I ask with a smile. "Why are you asking how I am doing? Tell me about that date." Walking towards the living room he patted my back.
"So I walked into the bar...."
