"I heard the Civic Soccer Team is having a meeting on Friday. You should go."

Aunt Ambi said as she stirred some stew.

"I'm good."

I replied, rolling my soccer ball with my feet under the table.

"Jen, you need to get social around here. You can't just lay around at home with your soccer ball."

Aunt Ambi complained. I ignored her. Tired, Aunt Ambi gave up and continued cooking the stew. I still played with the soccer ball underneath the table, wondering if coming here was a good idea or not.

"Have fun."

Aunt Ambi said as she waved me out, brushing her hands on her apron.

"Thanks. I'll see you after school."

I said. And walked out into the summer-fall weather. The first day of school was today, September 11th, and it was chilly. With my school uniform, which was a short plaid skirt with a Civic High jacket, I added a scarf over. Wrapping the scarf around me tighter, I ran to the bus stop, my gray converse carrying me. I jumped up and down as I waited for the school bus. Did it go by already? No, it couldn't have. I left the house at exactly 7:50! It seemed like it was getting colder by the minute.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Somebody asked. I turned around to be faced to faced with a taller boy.

"You look like your gonna shit yourself."

He said again, looking at my feet jumping up and down. I stopped my feet and turned back around. He was probably a gangster just hanging around. I had no business with those boys.

"Hey, don't ignore me!"

He said, grabbing my shoulder and flipping me around. My reaction was kicking him in the stomach. He was soon sprawling on the ground, moaning and groaning. That's when I noticed the same jacket of Civic High. It was covered by his coat. Now that I noticed, he didnt look much of a gangster, except his pitch black hair and a piercing on his ear.

"What was that for?!"

He managed to speak. I was about to say something back, but the yellow school bus arrived. Quickly, I boarded, pretending not to have anything to do with the boy moaning clutching his stomach.

The school was huge, with it's own gate and stuff. Students were all over the place, talking, trying to memorize their schedules, and other "studently" things. I was the first to exit the school bus, just in case that black haired guy tried to chase after me. I ran into the school, and started my investigation to class from there. I leaned against some lockers to stick my hand in my bag and pull out my crumpled schedule.

"First class...algebra?"

I read, and I sighed. It obviously didnt give the room number. I had to find my locker first. All of the books in my bag were weighing me down. I ran down the halls, up and down stairs, to find myself by a bunch of cheerleader looking girls. You know what I mean. I turned the other way to run, but one of the girls yelled to stop. I turned to face the girls.

"Hey, are you a new student? I haven't seen you here before."

A blonde asked.

"Korean, huh? There's a lot of Asians here at Civic. So why would you come to the American side?"

She asked, touching my hair. I was a bit taller than her, but I didn't dare to move.

"You have such soft hair! I think it would look pretty if you curl it, too. Do you play a sport?"
