Chemistry was lead by a cuckoo teacher that seemed to not sit still for a second. His hair always stuck up to all sides. It made me want to pour several cups of water on him. And I wasn't even joking. He tried to test how well we thought ahead and planned ahead of time, which I thought was a total waste. Why not get to the point? He didn't even introduce himself. Did he have too much sugar this morning...?

"S-So! Y-You always have to be p-prepared for ANYTHING that happens in t-this c-classroom! S-So! Make sure you're r-ready for some explosions!"

The teacher seemed more excited than any of us were. Explosions, my butt. I doubt he knew any of the basics of chemistry. Just then, a girl across from my desk tapped me.

"Hey, what's your name?"

She asked. Pretending not to hear her, I continued to take some kind of notes the teacher wrote up on the board.

"Hey! Hey you! Psst!"

She tapped me again. Ignoring her again, I resumed my work.

"You!!!!!"

She whispered loudly. I couldn't take it anymore.

"What do you want from my life!?!"

I whispered angrily back at her.

"Psh. Im sorry if I made you mad. You just look like your new to this school because I never saw you anywhere before."

She gave me a look and turned to HER work. I rolled my eyes. This school had messed up students. First a guy that said I was going to shit myself, then Tessa who tried to get me into cheerleading, and now this girl who completely pissed me off to the maximum. Because of her, I missed some notes.

"God dammit."

I muttered under my breath.

"I'm Sophia. Part of the welcoming committee in Civic High. If you need anything, just come get me. My locker is 436."

The girl that pissed me off whispered to me.

"I don't need any of your god damn help! I can handle this school by myself."

I whispered back. Now, I wasn't going to reply ANYMORE, no matter what she said.

"Well, you're one toughie."

She smiled and pretended to concentrate, again. This girl. I swear she just wanted to see me mad. And when I'm mad, it isnt pretty. I was about to blow until the bell rang. Had class gone by that fast? Well, obviously since stupid Einstein there talked his head off for more than half of the class.

"H-Have a nice day!"

I heard him call over the crowd running out the door, probably all annoyed by Einstein over there in the back of the classroom.

I avoided Danny, or tried to avoid, for the rest of the day. It was driving me nuts. I didn't need any friends. I could survive this stinking Civic High and graduate by myself. And graduate the valedictorian of Civic High. I caught some of the girls that tried to make me join cheer leading this morning by the lockers, flirting with football guys. It looked messed up. I ran to all the classes, up and down, to my locker, right and left, until someone finally halted me to a stop.

"Stop running will you? I've been watching you running all day and it's making me go crazy."

He said.

"Get out of my way, Im late for class."

I said, pushing his arm away from me. Right away, he grabbed my wrist. As much as I tried to pull away, I couldnt.
