There was barely anyone in the front of the school the next morning. They were all pushing to get to the main hall of Civic High. I remembered that the results for the team was up, and I sprinted to the school, ditching Jacob, who had unfortunately got kicked again for bothering me on the bus. There was so much yelling and calling names out, I had to block my ears. I couldn't see over the crowd, no matter how tall I was. I couldn't even step into the building. Yelling in frustration, which probably no one heard, I tried pushing through the crowd. I got pushed out by someone's elbow right away and my head landed on someone's foot.
"Ow!!"
Today wasn't such a good day. I looked up to see who I had crashed into, and two gleaming eyes stared down at me. I stood up quickly and dusted off my skirt. I realized everyone had gone quiet around me, and murmurs were starting to rise.
"She just ran into Kevin!"
"I bet she did that on purpose!"
"Is she a desperate one for Kevin too?"
"Wow, she must be humiliated."
I grunted at the murmurs.
"You okay?"
Kevin asked.
"Yeah."
I said, my face red from probably the embarrassment. Kevin patted my shoulder and went by with his "gang" which was pretty cheesy. They made their way through the group of students, and they all spread apart like the Red Sea for them. The postboard was clear in view, and I wasn't going to miss this chance. I ran and caught up with Kevin.
"What the f*** is she doing?!"
"Is she nuts?!"
"Who is she?"
"She's crazy!"
People started yelling as I ran past them. Kevin's gang was covering the area, and I couldn't get through to see the board.
"What do you think you're doing?"
One of the gang members asked. I ignored them and tried to take a way around them.
"Get out of here you first year!"
Another member slightly pushed me. I glared at them, but somewhat knew it would cause a mess if I kicked them.
"Hey, leave her alone."
Kevin pushed back the member who had pushed me, and gestured me to step forward. Everyone seemed stunned, which I didn't understand. I stepped right up next to Kevin and examined the board. Basketball, football, baseball, track, ....ah! Soccer! I scanned the list for my name. It was right under Aaron's.
"Yes!"
I shouted and fist-pumped into the air. More people started murmuring around me.
"We can decide our positions next practice. I'll give you a schedule whenever I catch you around."
Kevin told me. I grinned at him, which I usually didnt do, and he grinned right back at me. Then I saw a flash in the student crowds. Kevin must've not noticed, but I did. I scanned the crowd for a camera or phone, but didnt find any. Must've been an illusion or something, I thought and turned my attention elsewhere.

I returned home in a great mood. I didn't even mind Danny following me. (Although I did ignore him). Aunt Ambi thought I was going nuts and even tried to bring me to the hospital, which was hilarious. For the day, I went outside and kicked the soccer ball. I couldn't sit still in my room studying.
