I felt myself slowly get dragged out of my sleep, being exhausted from the work day before. As I woke up I could sense a pair of familiar eyes lay on me. I was sure it was him but I still popped one eye open to make sure, and that's when I saw him, standing just a few feet away from me with a tray in his hands. He had that loving face that always made me blush and I couldn't help but smile when I once again closed my eyes, not wanting this moment to go away.
"Hey" I managed to say despite my still sleepy mind.
"Hey, you got in late last night, catch a case?" he asked as he put down the tray on the night table.
I sat myself up a bit, trying to get the sleep out of my system to really wake up. That's when I looked at the tray and saw the news paper laying there, waiting for me to read it.
"Yeah, actually it was this one" I stated as I took to paper and handed it to him to see the first page story. "Someone blew up an apartment downtown" I added while rubbing my face, waking myself up.
I immediately noticed his mood change when I exposed the case.
"Seriously and you didn't call me?" he complained, a little too loud for my sleepy liking.
"Castle, you said you had a chapter to do" I explained myself with a tired voice, I didn't want him to be upset with me, especially since I didn't do anything wrong.
"Yes, which is writer's speak for all procrastinations welcome" he said and if I hadn't been so tired I would've rolled my eyes. "So what was it, a terrorist plot, a meth lab?" he spinned off with his ordinary theory building.
"Uhm, a canvas turned up with a description of a guy fleeing the scene in a silver hatchback" I told him, looking at my phone to see what time it was. "We called in for traffic cam footage which is probably already in so I gotta get going."
I rised from the bed and started to go towards my work clothes so I could get ready for heading back.
"Or..." he said grabbing a hold of my arm before I could go too far away from the bed, "you have Esposito check that out. He's very good at it, I feel like I haven't seen you in days" he complained with a small smile as he sat down and dragged me towards him.
I followed with ease, not really being able to say no to this amazing feeling his skin had on me. And those puppy eyes could make me do anything. I smiled as I straddled him on the bed.
"You know, I do really have to get going but..." I started and he wouldn't let me finish.
"But, you're powerless to resist me, you always have been" he stated with a smirk growing on his face.
"Really?" I asked with a laughter-filled smile on my lips, he couldn't be serious.
"Mmm" he mumbled and I couldn't believe how he could look so confident about this considering that first year we had together.
"Do you remember when we first met? I kinda thought you were an ass" I tried to say it as gently as I possibly could, not wanting to hurt his ego but needing to tell him the truth.
"Oh, I know you pretended you thought that but come on, we're together now. You can admit it. You fell for me the first moment you saw me" he said, still with that confident smirk on his face.
"No, I didn't" I defended myself, starting to get annoyed by his confidence.
"Please, you did" he continued and I felt myself getting extremely annoying by this.
"You believe that, don't you?" I said with my smile slowly dropping from the annoyance.
"It's true" he pushed on and I gave him my look.
