Marcus's POV

As I awoke from getting stabbed I realized I was looking down at me but that did not make sense. Before I could think about it again I was sprinting without control. My mental speedometer told me I just reached mach 2 and was gaining. I was moving so fast I could not see a thing. Just before I thought I was going to reach my peak my ears popped and it all went dark.

Riley's POV

While Nathan lead the way I thought about how everyone got powers from the explosion except me.
Dramatic flashback

I walked down TCU's hallway looking for Marcus and Andy. They were supposed to meet me at my locker 5 minutes ago. I looked around and was about to look somewhere else when I saw Marcus hanging out with his "friend", Zaina. I never did like the look on her face. As he said goodbye I saw Andy walking out of Mrs.Kabyc's room.

"Hey guys I need to show you this" I said as I opened my locker. I entered in the combo and I blinding light showed up. My head flared with pain.

Present Day

"Arrrggghhhh!!!!!!!" I yelled as my skull exploded in pain. My entire vision went white.
I blacked out from pain.

Marcus's POV

I turned my head and saw what I thought could have never happened. I saw the person I thought was dead. Zaina Lafia.

"Hello Marcus" she said affectionately"

"Zaina?" I said "how did you.... "

"I rescued you from those crazy people, so I could do this!!!" She screamed. She grabbed a sword and drove it through my heart.

"Noooo, Zaina why??"I yelled and hollered

I suddenly woke up covered in sweat.

"Who is Zaina?"

"Ahhhh!!" I yelled

"What is wrong with you" Said a girl in a green robe.

"Who are you" I asked

"I am Jam" she replied smugly "My job is to do what Ela could not, killing you"
