Chapter Two,
P A T T Y

"What did she say?" I asked, taking a large gulp of the Monster in my hands before throwing myself backwards on the mattress. "She's cool with it," Andrew shrugged, swiping stray pieces of his mocha colored hair away from his face. "What about the rest of your family?" I questioned, propping myself upwards, resting on my forearms against the mattress. The stiff material felt like cardboard beneath the weight of my body making it a struggle  to get comfortable. It only seemed reasonable for him to ask the rest of his family for permission if he had to ask his younger sister.

"I don't think they'll mind much," Andrew chuckled, mindlessly twisting the swivel chair back and forth, something he did often while sitting in our dorm. It drove me crazy sometimes, especially during our intense study sessions, but it had became something that I was accustomed to. "Why would you ask your sister then?" I laughed, shaking my head. I knew that he cared about his sister's opinion a lot, but it just didn't seem logical for him asking her if and not the rest of his family "You don't understand," he spoke. "If my sister doesn't like you, she'll make your life a living hell. Between Olivia and her best friend they would have found some way to make your experience horrible." I cocked an eyebrow questioningly, "how so?" I highly doubted that a teenage girl could possibly wreak so much havoc.

"You really don't want to know."

"Now I have to know," I urged him as I lifted myself up by my elbows, attempting to get a better view of him. "Well, there was this one time when Liv was super mad at me..." Andrew began telling me the details of his little sister's shenanigans.

Olivia and Brian were partners in crime and were always doing something crazy.

Little did they know, I could be just as much trouble as they were, if not more.

"I will never understand the complicated dynamics of women," Noah groaned, glaring deeply down at his phone from across the room. It didn't take a genius to know that his girlfriend Kelly was on the other end of the phone. The two of them were like day and night, but somehow they made it work. "You and me both," Brian chuckled from his position beside of me where he mindlessly doodled into his notebook. I watched with awe as creativity flowed through his mind and onto the paper in a way that I couldn't even begin to fathom. "Men are just as much of a mystery to us as women are to you. You guys aren't that easy to read either," I sassed as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Dude, you're probably one of the most complicated people I know," Brian replied with a laugh, wrapping his arm snug around me. "Shut up! I'm not that complicated," I barked as I lightly shoved at his chest, tightening my eyes into slits.

"Ooh, savage," Noah crackled with a vast grin, earning a vulgar hand gesture in return. "Bite me, Shrader," I retorted, pursing my lips in annoyance. "See? There you go with the mixed signals," Brian pointed out, directing his index finger towards me. "Oh, yeah," Noah nodded along. "One minute she's yelling at me and the next she's asking for sex."

"Unbelievable," Brian shook his head in disappointment. "I hate you guys," I groaned, rolling my eyes just as my phone lit up from the coffee table in front of me, capturing my attention. I quickly placed my books beside me and reached to grab it. "Damn it, what has happened the children in our generation? They're always glued to their phones," Brian laughed, causing me to shake my head for what felt like the millionth time that night.

I glanced at the screen, raising a brow as a Facebook notification popped up.
