Chapter 3: Like a little sister

“Aunt Lisa I’m home!” Said Adrene. Lisa came downstairs wearing a skin tight pink cocktail dress. She was wearing loads of makeup.

          “Aunt Lisa?”

“Oh Adrene I have a, er, date tonight so there is a pizza in the freezer for you to cook.” I came over to the mirror Aunt Lisa was looking at and said. “So what’s his name?”

She turned and looked at me smiled and replied. “His name is Camron and he is a photographer. He hasn’t been married, has no kids and is really cute.” Aunt Lisa sounded like a teenager when it came to boys.

“Well sounds like he is a nice guy, I hope you have a great time.” I heard the door bell ring and Aunt Lisa went to answer it. She had opened the door and there stood, Lucas. Why was Lucas at my house? How did he even know where I lived? Was Julia actually right?

“Lucas?” Aunt Lisa gave me a look that read “I’ll just be upstairs.” I walked onto the stone porch and shut the door.

“I have your cell phone, and thought you might need it.” I looked up at him and took the phone from his hand in which it sat.

“Um thanks, but how did you know where I lived?”

“I asked people around town and they said you lived here.” Lucas said gesturing to the house.

So maybe he wasn’t a stalker, maybe he was just a great guy. He started to make his way down the steps. “Wait, Lucas have you eaten yet?”

Aunt Lisa was on her date with whoever this Camron guy was and I just practically asked Lucas to dinner. It wasn’t fancy, it was just pizza and drinks nothing to intimidating.

“Well thanks for bringing my phone back Lucas.”

He pulled his face away from his pizza and waited until he swallowed and said. “No problem I was glad to bring it to you.” Lucas was very courteous, most guys I know wouldn’t wait till they swallowed they would say it and have a mouth full. They wouldn’t say they were glad to, just a “no problem.”

“Sorry that we are having pizza.” He smirked slightly and laughed.

“That’s ok, really I don’t mind pizza.” After a moment of silence I thought I’d make a conversation. “So are you enjoying the London country side?”

“Yes I do enjoy it, very much. I also enjoy my new and only friend.”

I tried not to blush but I felt my face go hot. Luckily Lucas wasn’t looking but I swear that when his face was down he quietly laughed. I didn’t know if that was good or bad.

“Well I like my new found friend as well. He isn’t like most guys I know.”

He looked up at me and wiped his face to erase the remains of his third piece of pizza. “How so?”

I had a whole bunch of things to say but they suddenly were erased from my mind. “For one you swallow before you talk, instead of those guys that talk with their mouth full of food. You don’t look at girls like they are a piece of ass. You’re just a real gentleman.”

“Why thanks you, my father taught me well then.”

We talked for what seemed to be seconds but in reality were hours. It was now nine o’clock in the evening.
