2. New Friend

"(Y/N)? It's Yuu. Open up." The raven haired boy knocked on your door making sure you were up and ok.
You groaned as a response while fixing your hair.
Today was just about the same as every other day. You wake up, Yuichiro makes sure you're alright, the both of you live your regular lives trying to get into the Vampire Extermination Unit for the Moon Demon company, and repeat the process.
Today, you hoped, would be different. A fresh start at an alright school could probably boost up your chances of getting in the Extermination Unit.
So, with a small smile tugging at your lips, you greeted your green eyed brother and welcomed the day to come with hope.
"You seem happier than usual. Any reason?" Yuichiro allowed himself inside of your room and plopped himself onto your bed, looking at your face for an answer being that you still refused to speak after the events that happened years ago.
"Oh let me guess: New school, new friends?" You thought about the guessed answer and hesitantly tipping your head side to side as a sign that meant maybe. "Ok...Ah how about getting into the Extermination Unit. Once we make a friend, we're set." Vigorously nodding your head, Yuu chuckled knowing that the both of you had the same intentions as always.
Slowly, Yuu got up and put both hands on your shoulders giving you a serious look. "Both you and I know the pain of gaining new family and friends...I don't want you getting hurt again ok? Look at whats happened to you. Twice you've been hurt severely, and the results are terrible. I...I don't like the idea of seeing you badly wounded, physically or emotionally. Got it?" You nodded this time once with a serious gaze, then Yuichiro let go of your shoulders and ushered you out the door. "Did you eat breakfast?"
You shook your head no as Yuichiro sighed in disappointment. Yuichiro led you to the kitchen and made his way to the pantry. "Oh man (Y/N) you don't have anything decent to eat! What the heck would you do without me?" Slowly, Yuu fished a granola bar out of his pocket and tossed it in your direction, leaving you to catch it. "If you don't eat it, I can just give it to you like the old days."
Sighing, you tore open the package and reluctantly chewed at the food, immediately wanting to throw up. Sure, crap happened before, but it hadn't been this bad in a while.
"Ok lets go. Can't be late."

"Huh?! What do you mean?!"
"Hyakuya if you interrupt my lesson one more time..."
Your lips curled into a small smile as you watched your brothers foolishness. There were some upsides to not speaking. You never got in trouble in class, so you were set for now at least.
Looking over to see what started your brothers commotion, you saw a lavender haired girl holding up a notebook and a frustrated looking Yuu. Weird...but this could be good.
Nonetheless, you knew what new friends meant. So did Yuu, so it was safe to assume the he wouldn't have sex with this chick.
Both of you always looked out for each other. Being that you guys were the last of your family, it was fitting that you helped him and he helped you.
Even now you were watching your brother rather than the teacher. Your smile soon vanished as you noticed what he was looking at outside.
The invisible sky that haunts you everyday.
<><><>Timeskip to after lessons<><><>
(Y/N), this is Shinoa, our army surveillance officer..." Yuu sighed in annoyance as he glared at the purple haired girl. You, however, grinned and wove your hand in a welcoming manner.
"So, siblings. Im only assuming unrelated because of appearance and the way Yuichiro lustfully looks at you." Shinoa, your worst nightmare, wiggled her eyebrows and smirked devilishly as both you and Yuichiro's faces burned red.
"W-What the heck are you saying! W-We're just family, n-nothing more." Not yet at least, Yuu thought.
Yes it was true, though you called him brother you were guys were unrelated, and ever since his green eyes laid upon your graceful figure he fell for you.
"So, you guys are unrelated? Ooh potential I see..." This made you bury your face with your hands, but Yuichiro was about ready to stab the pervert next to him.
"Look, what you thi-"
"Wait wait, I want to know what she has to say." Shinoa gestured to your silent figure, but you looked to the ground in disappointment, still keeping quiet.
"She doesn't speak. I usually do the talking for her if she doesn't have something to write with on her." Yuu began to explain what happened to your voice, but Shinoa was digging around for a pen and paper. Sure enough, the girl found a pen and piece of paper.
"Here, write on one of the walls." And so, you took the paper and wrote on one of the walls. You kept your message pretty short. Just because you couldn't talk didn't mean you wanted to.
Handing the paper back in seconds, you all continued your walk through the hall.
"Just family. Brother." Shinoa read aloud. The message almost made Yuu's heart sink, but he kept silent and his facial expressions to minimum.
"P-Please stop..." Another unknown male voice interrupted your conversation. Soon, a visible boy came into view as a boy was knocked to the ground. Within a second flat, your instincts took over ad you walked speedily to the boy and to his attacker before anyone could stop you.
"Oh look how adorable. A small girl coming to the rescue." One of the boys cooed, but your expression was darkened completely as you defensively stood in front of the terrified boy. "Move, and you wont get involved or hurt." The leader 'politely' asked you to move and brought a hand to your shoulder, but you quickly caught it and began to make the boy writhe in pain.
"Oi (Y/N). I realize you like to hurt people, but don't kill him. I want to do that." It was true. Hurting people and seeing their helpless expressions was something you thoroughly enjoyed.
"Oh I forgot to tell you, you'll be suspended if you beat up a civilian." Shinoa smiled broadly while you directed your hateful glare to her.
"Hah, looks like their helpless after all. So, now we have two errand boys and one girl...Ooh we should keep her..." The boy once writhing in pain now pulled you towards him, making you fall into his chest. However another force began to tug you backwards, and it wasn't your brother.
"Yoichi! She's ours stop being greedy!" The boy you just saved continually dragged you back leaving the lazy boys to pout.

"Im sorry..." The boy next to you mumbled again as he looked down in disappointment. You nudged him giving a sympathetic smile showing that it was ok.
"(Y/N)...? That's your name right...?" You nodded and smiled happy that the boy next to you caught your name from before.
"Ah I thought so. My name is Yoichi and...Im sorry, (Y/N)."
"Hey, stop apologizing it's getting annoying...What's the deal anyway? Why are you being bullied by them?" Yuu turned his head to the both of you and out an annoyed expression on his face.
"Im not being bullied..."
"Yeah yeah that's what they always say."
"It's true Im not being bullied."
Yuichiro looked to you to see what you had to say and one look gave away everything you wanted to say.
"(Y/N) thinks it's pretty obvious that you're being bullied and that a person like you doesn't deserve such treatment from a scumbag who....deserves to die." You nodded and smiled showing that what he said was perfect.
"Oh...Thank you for the words, but really I wasn't being bullied. I just wanted to talk to him about getting another entrance exam to the Moon Demon Company. I, uh, failed it...Yamamaka is a potential recruit to the Vampire Extermination Unit and I just wanted some contact..."
"What?! I-Im gonna kill Guren! Neither of us could get in!"
"O-Oh...I know it's odd for a weakling like me to want to join the Moon Demon Company but..."
"But?"
"I want revenge for my sister..."
"Revenge?"
"To protect me, she was killed by a vampire. At that moment, I couldn't help her and so..."
"You'd be an idiot to come out and help. Dead meat. You weren't wrong."
You stared with a shocked expression at the raven haired boy and he got the message.
"(Y/N) thinks I should be more sympathetic towards you because of past events that happened to her and I...but to be honest, you shouldn't join the Moon Demon Company for your own good. Do you think your sister would want revenge?"
That statement allowed silence to linger until Yuu spoke again.
"You'd only get in the way if you joined the extermination unit. Don't join." This left a shocked and upset Yoichi next to you. You were torn as to who to stsy or go with. Yuichiro was your translator but you had to comfort the poor kid next to you.
Suddenly, a loud explosion erupted behind you as alarms began to go off.
"Attention all students and faculty! A vampire has escaped from the near by biological research facility. Vampires regain their strength by drinking blood, so please stay away from it. We repeat-"
"I'll call the Moon Demon Company, you three evacuate!" Shinoa began to order you three around, but you and Yuichiro had different ideas as the you both ran off to your lockers for your weapons.
Yoichi, however, just watched in awe as your body ran off. Though he just met you, he had started to develop a crush for you. He loved the way your (H/C) hair framed your face perfectly and how your hazel eyes sparkled beautifully. Yoichi Saotome couldn't wait to hear your beautiful voice.
But at the moment you were away from him and in danger, so he ran after your long gone body.
In the meantime, Yuichiro was holding off this pink haired vampire you both had found while you were making your way to attack the vampire, but its reflexes were too fast and it moved out of your way, almost making you knock into Yuichiro.
Most of your efforts to slow down or slice the vampire were futile. As you ran in for another attack, the vampire knocked you back with so much force she flung you to the other side of the class room, knocking you out.
"Don't hurt my sister!" Yuu screamed as he ran in fury landing multiple wounds on the vampire. This, helped the situation in the least. Even when cutting off her arm she only reattached it in seconds.
"You're so pesky..." The pink haired monster mumbled while walking to the girl. "Once I drink her blood I can heal faster."
The vampire quickly began to lean down to the girls neck and smack her lips, but a flash of brown hair knocked over the vampire before anything could be done.
"Yoichi!"'
"You little..." Yoichi covered his face, awaiting immense pain or death, but when he heard the clash of a sword, he slowly opened his eyes.
"(Y/N)..." You struggled against the power of the vampire but still held up. In a sudden burst of power, you pushed the vampire back and pulled Yoichi out of it's wrath, this time Yuu held back the now furious vampire.
However, Yuu didn't stand long when the vampire gripped his neck and ran him out the classroom and a long way down to the ground.
"Yuu!"
Yoichi was the first to run and leave but you were etunned in a sudden flashback of losing your other family. Not wanting to lose your last of family, you sprinted past Yoichi and towards the location of Yuu.
Upon your arrival, you were relieved to see an alive Yuichiro and the Moon Demon Company AKA the jerk Guren and his squad.
"Let me join the Mo-"
"Th-Thank goodness!" You turned to see a Yoichi next to you relieved that his new friend was ok. "You're alright! I thought you died!" Yoichi jumped over the railing and stumbled to Yuu, but accidentally knocked him over and knocked him out due to him falling.
Yoichi clung to the now unconscious boy and cried out of relief. Tears stung your eyes, but you kept your smile.
"Who's that?" You heard Guren ask.
"Their friend apparantley." Shinoa responded.
You would have protested, saying that you didn't need friends, but decided not to because it was true. You did make a new friend and now the hurt would slowly come back to you. You didn't want to make new friends because you knew that getting too close would result in fatal wounds and as Yuichiro said, nobody wants to see that.
So, you just took a deep breath and smiled at the scene before you.
A new friend hugging your unconscious brother.

A/N-Ok how the heck does one write two books at the same time it's a lot more difficult than people think it is. Anyhow I hope y'all enjoyed because I sure did enjoy writing this. I actually really really really REALLY love Yoichi because he's just the absolute best so heads up, he will be a major love interest WOO! Will reader-chan speak next chapter? Nope. Hehe it will be a long long time until you speak. But that's alright cause when you do OH BOY crap is gonna go down. That said, STAY AWESOME!!!
