Disappointment

There are so many requirements to be met,
That's why I'm such a disappointment.

Only work no play,
All the shame I keep at bay.

"You're such a freak!" I get told,
Others unaware of the chaos that unfolds.

Each insult endlessly spouted,
While in my mind each one is framed on the wall and mounted.

So many exploited flaws
And on my happiness it gnaws.

That each jibe stays in my mind.
Each one like a shirt stained.

So many Unaware of the pain words cause,
And I wrap the wounds in my temporary gauze.

But eventually the dam broke,
And here I am writing this poem for all the lonely folk.

It gets better right?
If not I might take flight
