Chapter 9 - Behind the Glass

"You sure you gonna be okay Ruby?" I turned around, my eyes falling upon CC's caring face. I shook my head.

"No. I need to sort this out myself, thanks" I took a deep, shuddering breath, turning on my heel and walking towards the prison building.

I got inside and was taken to a corridor that was split down the middle by a large sheet of glass. I was led to where Ashley was. He was wearing a prison jumpsuit, his hair was flat and there wasn't a spot of eyeliner on him, just dark, tired circles under his eyes. I sat down and picked up the phone as Ashley sang "I got these questions always running through my hea-"

"Ashley stop it you're not Ronnie Radke."

"So many things that I would like to understand." I figured he wasn't taking this seriously, soI huffed, rolled my eyes, got up and started for the door.

"Ruby wait!" I stopped and sat down again. "I'm sorry. For everything, I never meant to hurt you, I was a complete dick and I know you won't forgive me but please just know that I'm so sorry. I'm in love with you." He placed his hand on the glass like in a cheesy prison movie.

"I was starting to. Until you went and shattered my heart. You deserve to be locked up, I don't ever wanna see you again."

"Ruby no! You know I'm innocent!"

"I know you are, in here. You're not innocent to me though." Tears welled up in my eyes.

"Please Ruby you know I'm not a peadohpile. Tell the court that, the case is in a week you know what's right. I know what I did to you was wrong, but I didn't intend it, I didn't wanna hurt you."

"Well then why agree to it. If you knew the consequences of me finding out then why do it?"

"Because I- I felt like...well...I don't even know anymore. But what I do know is that I can't forgive myself until you firgive me, I'm so so sorry."

"It's too late for apologies" I put the phone down and walked away, leaving a locked up Ashley behind the glass.

I got back on the bus and slumped down on the couch next to Jinxx. "Rubs'...how'd it go?" He pulled me onto his knee and rocked my like a little child

"Not well. I hate him. I want Ashley locked up in that cell forever. In that court case next week I'll crush him. He's never gonna see daylight ever again!"
