(Please excuse any errors, this was written on my I pad at 2 in the morn.)
It was a bright sunny morning when Kalli started collage. She had just moved to London for her scholarship to Birmingham. She always wanted to live in London and here was her chance. She buttoned up her black and white polkadot blouse and closed her apartment door behind her. Her smile was so big it showed every tooth. All her dreams where finally coming true, and she was ready to go to school now more than ever. She walked to her first period class with all of her things she would need and more. Her first period class was European history, this was her new home and now she wanted to know all about it. She had loved the UK since she could remember, that's where her heart truly belonged. She was willing to sacrifice everything to live in London and she did. She left everything she knew, to explore this new world that she never been to. She'd only been here for a week and was already in love. She was trying to get a job at the coffee shop down the street from her apartment. Since she was here for college, she hadn't a penny to spare on a car and needed a job in walking distance. Luckily where she lived was near everything she would need, and London was run by busses. Kalli enjoyed walking though, time to explore London and exercise since she gave up cheer leading when she left America. She was one of the best cheerleaders in her state, it was a passion but London was love. Every thought of London made her smile.
Her class was starting when a boy her age came running in just before the professor closed the locked door. The professor then said, "Students who are late aren't welcome in my class." The tall brunette boy then said, "The door was not shut therefore I was not late." The professor scowled but let him in then announced to the class to not be late . The boy then took a seat directly I front of me, two rows down. The professor introduced himself as Dr. Morin, then passed out the papers filled with our assignments and such things. He then explained that our first assignment would be a debate over what country was the best. We would have to have an essay done as well as debate ready for the next class period. I took my notes of all my ideas then packed my stuff up and left the class being the last to leave.
As Kalli walked outside when she ran into someone knocking all her books everywhere. She then said sorry, saying it simultaneously as the person who ran into her. She looked up to find a cheery brunette girl with with a nose like tinker bell. The girl giggled and said,"Don't look so jittery I won't hurt you." She had a thick British accent and shiny white smile. "Have you never heard a British accent, you might want to get used to it your in London." She said with her big Rosie cheeks. "No, I just... Don't have any friends from here yet so I'm not used to the accent, I'm sorry if I stared." I said timidly. "No problem mate, want to get a cup of coffee so you can make a friend?" She asked friendly. I smiled and nodded my head. As we walked to the local coffee shop she told me about everything in Birmingham and all the best foods and things to do. When we walked into the coffee shop I laughed and said, "I'm tryin to get a job here, I only live a few blocks away and I'm probably going to spend all my money here." The girl laughed, "You think my accent is funny but really your the weird one, everyone can tell your American from the way you walk to the way you talk. And by the way I'm Blair." "Nice to finally know your name. I'm Kalli." I laughed. We sat down with our coffee and muffins, and talked for hours about London and America. When we parted exchanging phone numbers I felt good, like I accomplished something. As I walked home I'm knew why, the town was breath taking, and the people were marvelous. I did miss my home but this is where I am, and this was my new home.
