A Gentleman

A gentleman is a male of rare type;
You will not find him in any old place.
It is hard to point out one, except for his clothing,
Or perhaps by the smile on his face.

There are far better methods, though, to seek one out,
One can identify a gentleman by his mien;
He is always polite, does not mince his words,
And his language is generally clean.

If you look, you'll see his posture is remarkably good;
A gentleman is always neat and trim.
You can count that he'll always hold the door for you,
As opposed to you holding for him.

If, on occasion, you make a mistake,
He will never consider your faults.
And, as laid out in the Gentleman's Rulebook,
He inherently knows how to waltz.

Such strict traits are the one reason
Gentlemen are so rarely to be found,
But it is a blessing to all present
When one happens to be around.

So if you spot a gentleman,
One who fits the proverbial shoe,
Please, please point him out to me
Because I want to dance with him too!
