Chapter 18

You would think that the story line of the show was going to be cheesy, but it turned out to be Les Miserables. So everything was perfect. I sensed Niall's eyes on me through half of the live musical. During the big battle scene, without turning to look at him, I whispered quieter than I usually would.

"You know, the show is actually pretty good. You gonna watch it?"

I turned to look at him with an innocent smile. He turned a light shade of pink and chuckled nervously. I just giggled. Then turned back to the show, not wanting to cause any attention to come towards me. Of course, I've seen this a billion times, so I know what's going to happen at the end, but I still cried anyway. Suddenly I felt a thumb gently brush the tears cascading down my face. I turned slowly while sniffling. He looked me right in the eyes while I just cried. His crystal-blue eyes searched my face before leaning in and brushing his lips against mine.

It wasn't a hungry, lustful kiss, it was more of a tender one, filled with love. Of course, it was salty due to my tears. Awkward. But it was undoubtedly the best kiss I have ever had in my entire life.

We walked out of the theatre hand in hand, trying to ignore the bombardment of questions from the flashing lights awaiting us outside the doors. One caught my attention.

"How was the musical?" I smiled, and realized I don't even remember the closing number.

My alarm clock woke me at 8:00 in the morning. I sighed and didn't want to leave the warmth of Niall's arms wrapped around my waist, legs intertwined. No, we did not have sex, calm down. We simply fell into bed and talked. I ended up falling asleep, so I guess he decided it was bedtime as well. He looked like a cute little puppy when he slept, so peaceful. I giggled and pried myself from his grip and tiptoed to the kitchen. Making myself a cup of coffee, I sat at the island and sipped my coffee, running over the plan tactics on my laptop.

So when Marcus calls with the message I track his satellite and purposely get captured, when they take away my weapons they wont notice the GPS in the gun, that technology came after Matt left the facility-

"Good morning, beautiful."

I turned around to see Niall leaning against the doorframe smiling at me with his sleepy eyes before shuffling into the kitchen and kissing my cheek on his way to the refridgerator. I take a sip of my coffee before watching him pour milk into his mocha.

"Have you memorized your part in the tactics?"

He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yes, we've been over it a billion times!" I shrugged. "Sorry, I just want to be thorough."

He laughed. "I know you do, babe." He said before sipping his mocha lightly.

"Thank you." I say.

He looks puzzled. "For what?" "For last night, stupid." "Oh. Well, you're welcome! Anything for you!" I think about how lucky I am to have him. If anyone tries to come between us, I will whoop their ass. I scrutinized every inch of Niall's facial features as he stared out the window to the city outside. The thin pink lips, the structured jawbone. I smile to myself and realize he's liked me since high school. How?

"Want to go on a duck tour today ?" I ask him. It might be good to have a relaxing day for once.

"What's a duck tour? Do we look at ducks for two hours or something?"

I mocked surprise and dramatically gasp. "You mean, you've never heard of a Boston Duck Tour before?" He shook his head.

Well, Mr. Horan, it looks like it's your lucky day."
