The Icy Beta: Chapter Three
My eyes widened in fear as I looked at the creature in front of me. The huge brown wolf was sending out dangerous vibes and his eyes... They were bloody red. The wolf growled fiercely at me as he approached me.
Oh no. Oh no. OH NO!!! What should I do?? I took a step back cautiously and tried to stay a distance away from it. As I moved backwards, the wolf strode slowly towards me. Is it going to eat me? Fear filled through me. I grabbed tightly on to my bag. I darted my eyes around to search for a direction to run.
The wolf let out a low growl. I whimpered and cowered back a little. That's it! I decided to make for a mad dash out of the forest. I hoped I would make it out.
Can I even outrun a wolf?!
Just as when I turned around and decided to dash out of the clearing, the wolf pounced on me. One of its paws landed on right shoulder. I heard the sound of my sleeves tearing apart. I cried out in pain when I felt its sharp claw scratched across my upper arm. I lost my balance and fell onto the ground. I whimpered softly. Blood was flowing down from my upper arm and the bandage on my lower arm was turning red too. My wound had split open and blood was seeping through the bandage. I lifted up my head to see the brown wolf approaching me. I shifted my butt, trying to move backwards further away from the wolf. The wolf growled at me again. Tears were rolling down my cheeks fiercely. My shoulder and arm hurt so badly.
"Please don't hurt me." I doubted it would understand but I prayed hard that it would understand and leave me alone. But lady luck wasn't on my side. The wolf growled at me and I saw it crouching down preparing to launch at me again. I let out a scream and mentally prepared for the pain to come. To my surprise, I did not feel any impact on me. I heard more growling than before. I peeked through my eyelashes to see the surroundings.
Two wolves were snapping their canines at each other. The new wolf's fur was darker than the other wolf. The new wolf pounced on the old wolf. They intertwined with each other and rolled across the ground. The new wolf pinned the old wolf on the ground and growled dangerously at him. The old wolf tried to get out of the new wolf's grip but the new wolf pinned the old wolf steadily on the ground. The new wolf snapped its canines at the old wolf.
My eyes were focused on the wolves as I tried to move backwards to hide behind the trees. I wasn't aware how far I was away from the tree till my shoulder knocked onto something hard causing me to whine in pain. The new wolf turned his head to look at me for a moment and the old wolf took his chance to tackle the new wolf. The new wolf moved swiftly to avoid the old wolf's attack. Without hesitant, the new wolf launched towards the old wolf and bit one of its front legs. The old wolf howled in pain. The new wolf took the opportunity and bit the old wolf's neck. A loud snap echoed through the forest.
The new wolf took a few steps away from the now dead wolf. I heard more rustling coming out from the forest. I cowered myself nearer to the tree. It was probably my imagination. But I saw bright eyes shining from the deep forest and some shadows moving around. The new wolf looked towards the deep forest and the shadows stopped moving. Slowly, one wolf walked out of the bushes and stood by the dead wolf.
So now there is another wolf appearing. Are they going to eat me like the now-dead wolf?
Tears kept spilling out from my eyes. Blood was dripping down from my arm. I could feel myself getting dizzy. My eyes were threatening to close. I'm going to die in the woods.
