Chapter 5:

Aberinkula – I am the one you are after

7th October 2008: II

We woke up early. The shock of the whole situation roused us. "What are they going to do with us today?" I asked Roo. "I still have no idea what we are doing here."

"Yeah me neither. This is really odd. But I feel safe. Do you?"

I was about to go into a rant about the whole situation and that we had no idea where we were or how we got there or what we were doing, but I thought about it, and yeah, I did feel fairly safe. "Now you mention it, there is something about this place. Still, it doesn't make me feel much better!"

"Always the optimist."

"Yeah, well, you worry more the older you get. Anyway, wonder what is for breakfast."

"Don't know, better go ask that Okami later, she'll know. She seemed really happy for us to be here."

"I know what you mean; it's good to get a friendly welcome.  What are we going to do about our clothes? Our bags are back where, Oji? Jesus!! Our bags are back at the Guesthouse! We were supposed to go back and pick them up! That's mental, they'll think we've gone missing; maybe they will call the police or something? It's been two days so far; does that count as a missing person’s case? What is the date anyway?"

"I've no idea, we were supposed to book into the next place on the seventh, so today should be the ninth, unless we were knocked out for longer. Does the phone work? Check the calendar function." I took the phone out of my trouser pocket and had a look. Firstly it was just past six in the morning, which gave us the time. Secondly, and something that was strange, the battery was full. It had not been charged for a couple of days and yet it had full power bars! I opened up the calendar function.

"Erm, it says. The seventh! Still..."

"Really, let's have a look." I passed the phone over for Roo to see. "Wow, now that is odd. Hey, you noticed that the phone still has full power?"

"Yeah, I was going to say that too. Dude, something weird is going on. It still doesn't have a signal though. What about our clothes, man? We are going to stink like hell if we don't get something clean! It's been two days. Plus the climb up the mountain before all this kicked off."

The mountain. Fighting, teeth and blood.

"Whoa, the mountain. Can you really remember what happed on that mountain? I'm just getting fucked up flash backs!"

"Me too, maybe that gas scrambled our brains a bit. Damn, this is a mess. And yeah, my pits are not the freshest either; we'll ask Okami about that later, too."

We lay in our futons talking for a while, trying to work out what to do. Asking each other how we were going to get back. Trying to work out how we really see people. Comforting each other like family do.

We got up about seven thirty, put on our dirty clothes and headed off to the reception desk. "Ohayō gozaimasu." Chirped Okami when we got there, "Did you both sleep well?"

"Ohayō. Yeah, we both slept fine, thanks." I said. "Do you know where we can get breakfast around here?"

"We will do breakfast here for you, please follow me." She smiled as she answered and walked around the desk to take us for breakfast.

"Erm, Okami," Began Roo "Do you guys have shower facilities? We must have forgotten to bring our belongings." He said awkwardly.

"Why yes, we have a place for you to wash, we will give you towel and you can use the soap you find there too. Also, if you like, we give you yukata for clothes."
