Dawn looked at me, wide eyed. "You what?!"
I sighed. "I bet you don't love me back."
Dawn's jaw dropped. "I do love you."
I lowered my head, my wet hair dripping on the blanket. "I'm sorry I snapped at you."
"It's okay. I bet you didn't mean it."
"I want to take all the things I did back, but I can't unless we build a time machine and go back."
"You're funny, Paul." She giggled.
I asked myself, Why does she giggle like that? Is she nervous around me?
Dawn was sweating, so Paul asked her, "Dawn, do you feel nervous around me?"
"A little bit." Dawn said shakily.
Without thinking, I locked lips with her. Her eyes widened so wide they were the size of dinner plates.
"Paul!" Dawn cried. "What's wrong with you?"
I shrugged and smiled a rare smile.
Dawn put one hand over her heart.
I got up, holding hands with her. As soon as we stepped into the living room I let go of her wrist and lowered my head.
Dawn leaned down and winked at me. I returned the wink and smiled.
Reggie's eyes flashed. "I see what you're doing."
"Oh, I know! I know! I know!!!" Barry screeched, jumping up and down.
"You love her! You love her!!"
I smiled and nodded.
"Paul.. You haven't smiled since ever." Reggie said. "You okay?"
I nodded. "Yes, why?"
Reggie looked at me. "You're acting different."
"Of course I am. I'm in love," I said.
"Says the man who said love is waste of time." Barry muttered.
I ignored the rude comment and slammed into the recliner.
Dawn smiled and blushed, sitting on my leg.
I sighed.
"You lovebirds." Barry mushed. He snapped a picture of us and posted it on Google Plus. "I'm gonna tell everyone about this."
"Oh, no you don't!" I picked Dawn up and snatched the phone out of his hands, deleting the post.
Dawn squealed in delight.
I glared at Barry. Throwing the phone into him, I fell backwards into the recliner.
Dawn was still in my arms. I blushed.
"Pokerface." Barry muttered, tapping his phone. "Paul's in a relationship."
"He is not!" Reggie threw the phone on the floor. "If you pick that up, I'll fine you!"
Barry picked it up. Reggie tussled with him on the floor.
"Boys." Dawn muttered.
I smiled. "They always do that."
Dawn blushed even harder and leaned back.
I supported her neck and stopped smiling.
"Paul?" Dawn asked.
I shook my head, slightly getting Dawn wet.
Dawn screamed as cold water splashed on her face.
"Paul! Don't do that!"
I smirked and released her. She jumped up and shook onto me.
"I have an idea." I said. "You wearing a bra?"
"You don't ask people that!" Dawn said, nodding.
"Then we can go swim." I said, pulling her into the forest and stripping down once we found the pond.
Dawn slowly took her clothes off. I jumped in, opening my eyes underwater.
She waded in, taking my hand.
I smiled. "You see? This is why I'm always wet in the morning."
Dawn nodded. She was blushing.
I was literally boiling with sweat. I waded into the deeper parts.
Dawn squeaked a little as a Goldeen nibbled at her toes.
I put my hand over her shoulder and stopped wading in.
Dawn looked around. "Whoa, it's peaceful out here."
I nodded. "Isn't it great? The water's always nice and cold, its drinkable-" I cupped my hand and drank out of it just to prove it to her- "and its crawling with life. And the sun always shines on the water, so its really bright under there."
Dawn took my hand again and we both dove underneath.
I encouraged her to open her eyes. She opened them, looking around, astounded.
We broke the surface. Dawn gasped for air and when she got her breath back she said: "That was amazing!"
I nodded, shaking on her, getting her wet.
Dawn splashed on me. I splashed back, and for once in a lifetime, I laughed, not that rude snicker, a real, singing laugh.
Dawn smiled and dove on top of me.
"I'm so awesome." I said. "I am a boss."
"You're more than a boss. You're a boss of the universe."
I liked that. "Cool!"
She shivered a bit. I swam back to shore, pulling her back.
"Paul, this is kind of embarrassing, but I can't swim." Dawn said.
"I can teach you later." I said. Instead of putting my jacket on, I wrapped it around her neck.
She leaned on me. I jumped a bit.
I pulled my tee shirt over my head, shaking water out of my eyes and hair.
She smiled, not bothering to put her clothes back on.
"Dawn, somebody's gonna think I raped you with that face and you with a bikini on." I said.
I put my shoes on and nodded to her clothes thrown onto the grass.
Dawn put her clothes on. I put the jacket back on her neck.
She smelled a sleeve and smiled that same way.
So, she likes my scent. I thought.
She shook water out of her hair, huge droplets splashing onto my shirt.
I snickered and shook my hair back on her.
She flinched a bit as my hair hit her shoulder.
"Oh, my God, I'm sorry." I said. "Did that hurt?"
"Not at all. As long it was from you." She said. "Let's get home."
