(Y/N's pov)

All I could do at that moment was scream. It was like really bad dream, or at least I was hoping it was. But when I realized I wasn't dreaming, I cried. I don't know if I'm dead or not, and that's what's scaring me the most.

"What is happening!?!" I couldn't help but yell. "What did I ever do?!"

"You didn't do anything." I heard behind me. I froze, the voice was vaguely familiar. When I turned around, There he was.. My cousin.

"EJ.." I said. "How.. you... you can see me."

"Yeah." He said. "I can. Now don't freak out, but you're not dead."

"Wait, what do you mean? How do you know--"

"Because I am."

I paused. "What?"

"You know what I mean Y/N, don't play dumb." He said.

I did know what he meant, but It was hard as hell to process. "How are you dead but I'm not?"

"I was unconscious. The explosion took more of a toll on me because of it."

"But I was the closest to the--"

"You don't need to understand everything all the time Y/N, damn. Just shut up and listen." He said. I stopped talking. "I've been dead long enough to get certain information. I was sent back to help you get through this."

"And this is?"

"That small space in between life and death. I was told that only the people who go before their time, get this chance to choose."

"So I wasn't supposed to die?" I asked. EJ shook his head.

"You weren't." He said. "But now the ball is in your court. You have to choose whether you want to live or die."

"And how do I do that?"

"Not sure. He didn't tell me that part."

"Wait, wait.. He?"

"St. Peter. The gatekeeper."

My mind was blown. Just in this short amount of time, my cousin had died, been to heaven, and come back down to earth to help me find my way. It was all amazing, but terrifying at the same time. "So What do I do?"

"Well its not going to be easy if that's what your thinking."

"I know, EJ." I sighed. "Why did this have to happen to me.."

"No, don't do that." EJ said. "Pitying yourself wont help anything. You need to use your head, and figure this out."

He was right. I looked around and noticed that someone had got into the driver's seat of the ambulance I was in. I ran jogged towards it and saw the passenger seat door open. Before it could pull off, I hopped in and right behind me came a male paramedic. The car started to drive off and when I turned around I saw EJ in the back of the truck with my body.

"EJ what are you doing?" I asked. He looked up at me and put his finger to his lips. I was confused at first, but then as he touched my sort of lifeless body, it started to give off a white glow. Now I was really confused. I looked at the driver and the passenger to see if they were noticing any of this, they weren't. When I turned back, EJ was gone. What the hell?

I sat there, scared, confused, and alone for the rest of the ride to the hospital.

(Santo's pov)

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.... I thought. This was bad. I took Ty to an ice cream shop to distract her. I mean she had to have a lot on her mind. Well shit, so do I. I had to focus and breathe. I could've sworn he was dead. The people in the shop were really nice, they helped Ty pick out the toppings for her ice cream. While Ty was distracted, I stepped outside to call Craig.

Ring... Ring... Ring....

"What's up?" He answered.

"We got a problem." I said.

"What type of problem?"

I looked through the glass, seeing Ty smiling and putting whipped cream on her ice cream. "An Alec, problem." I said.

Craig got quiet, I already knew what he was thinking.

Shit.
