Back at the Schnee estate, it had been days since Winter returned home, as she was given some time off. Still, what concerned her was her father. He had asked her to come home, but would and hadn't talked to her.

"I don't understand that man. Why call me home if you won't talk to me? Or even face me? It's a waste of my time here." Winter thought to herself as she laid in her bed looking through her scroll.

"Uuuugh. Boring. Why did I listen? I could've said no to the leave." she said as she sat up, the same moment her father entered, instantly causing her to freeze.

"F-Father! W-what a pleasent---"

"Quiet Winter!" Mr. Schnee shouts, cutting her off as he glared.

"Is that any way to talk in this house? Who are you to say or opinionate on why you are here? You are here because I said you'd be here. And that's final. Am I clear?!" He shouted with a thundering voice.

"Y-Yes father. I....understand." Winter was sitting completely still, flinching between his shouts. For her, it was a nightmare, a nightmare to be home. Luckily for sister, she was at Beacon.

"Do you know why I called you home Winter? I'm sure you know the answer." he said in a deep tone.

"I'm sorry father. I don't." she said as she thought for a minute, before speaking again.

"Does this have to do with your calls to Weiss? And.....me?"

"What do you think?" he said roughly and clearly annoyed at her question. It was obvious in it's own case.

"You always call when we're--"
She speaks before a slap across her right cheek from Mr. Schnee' back hand causing her to tumble to the side.

"Enough of your stupid excuses Winter! I will not tolerate any form of lying!"

Having her hand on her right cheek, she held in tears, but could not hide her broken voice. Now, even as an adult, not only was she still scared of her father, actually, terrified, he still continued to hurt her. She didn't know why, nor did she have the time to think. All her life she wanted a loving father, but much to her disappointment, it never happened.

"I-I'm not lying father. I'm being honest. You called me on a mission last time, where I had no reception."

Mr. Schnee raised a brow and scoffed.

"If I were to believe, I want you to answer me this. Why didn't you get back to me after your /mission/?" he stated with a strong emphasis on mission.

She froze stiff. He brought up a valid point. A point that she would not dare reply back to, not only in concern for herself, but in reflection to that of her younger sister, one she has constantly backed up in retaliation, that resulted in negative consequences. "Actions have consequences" wandered around her head, like planets revolving around the sun, like a car in a racetrack. She swallowed in before slowly and hesitantly answering, near cowering at her father's glare.

"I.... forgot." she said with a noticeable shake. Seconds of silence spread and remained. They flew around like an eternal loop before another slap was heard, this time, it was harder.

Winter was unsure what she'd do now. She wouldn't speak as she was still trembling.

"Pathetic." Mr. Schnee growled before leaving and slamming her door closed.

She laid crying hugging herself in a curled up ball. All she wanted was live. Someone to hold her hand and always tell her things will be fine. But, it was not possible. Schnee's were amongst the most undesirable people, despite the fact there were a few people who respected them. Still, what could she do. Her father always managed to keep her in check.

"Mom....please.....why...?" she cried in a shaky sniffling voice before falling asleep.
