Several days had passed since the cruel and vicious beating at the hands of her father. She hadn't seen him since then, and she was still locked in her room. The only time it was opened was for when maids brought her food, and being Faunus maids, they too suffered abuse, but were often scared of what would happen if they told Winter, despite the fact she was far aware. For those days, she kept thinking about Qrow, even when she cried, he came to her mind. Why did she feel this way? What made her feel this way? When did she start feeling this way? She didn't know, but what she did know was that what she felt was true, and it was a feeling she could not let go off. Without anyway of reaching out to him, she began to lose hope and if she would ever be free.

"Qrow......"

Meanwhile, back in Vale, Qrow was drinking at a bar and, considering it was the afternoon he was already drunk. As drunk as he was, he kept to himself, complaining on the mission.

"Damn you Ironwood, you metal headed brute. You really know how to waste my time. I wonder how Winter even respects you. Bravado fool."

As he drank, several armed men entered the barcand stood behind Qrow.

"Qrow, you're under arrest."

One said.

"Huh? What? That's funny."

He laughed as he gulped down his drink before eyeing them. As it would go, Qrow would not let down, but was subdued when one of the men hit across the head, knocking him out.

Back at Atlas, Winter laid sleeping in her bed, hugging the pillow. Her cheeks still red and soaked by the tears. She was later awokened by the a knock and a familiar voice.

"Winter? It's me Weiss. Open up please."

Despite the fact the voice of her sister calmed her, she did not open, even with her insistence. Locked, Weiss blasted the door open with her weapon.

"Why didn't you open? Didn't you hear me?"

She complained. Winter, yet, acted asleep, covering herself to hide her bruises.

"Winter, I know you're awake. Look st me."

Winter was hesitant to do so. She didn't want Weiss to see her like this. Every time she did, Weiss threw a fit, only to later grovel in tears. Weiss shared the same fear of their father, but what would she say if she heard about her night with Qrow.

"I....I can't. Let me sleep."

Winter responded.

"No. I want to talk to you.

Weiss replied, already annoyed.

"No! Leave!"

She shouted, sitting up, only to reveal her red face, marked with their father's hands. The sight horrified Weiss. At a loss for words, she shook in fear, tears could be seen at the corner of her eyes. In instinct, she hgged Winter, who groaned. Did he hit her everywhere? Weiss knew he did, and Winter could only give herself to hug back, giving in again. Once more, she appeared in a form to her sister she did not want. Weak, broken and battered.

For the longest time, the Schnee sisters hugged one another tightly. Their sisterly bond was the only thing that kept them together, their care for one another.

"W-why? Why does he do this?"

Weiss cried in a shattered voice.

"I-I-I don't know. I don't know."

Winter sobbed. Tears pelting on her bed like stones. For minutes they held one another, crying. The sobbing alone was enough to make them pass out for a few hours.
