Nightmare

You rub your eyes
And feel the ache in your thighs
As you turn off the light
To finally call it a night

Your eyes start to close
And you yawn once more
Until you finally fall asleep
And start to snore

The sounds drown out
As the pictures come about
In your mind
And they are all one of a kind

Pretty, beautiful, happy things
Until it all starts to fade
And turn into darkness
Looking like shade

You toss and turn
As the pretty pictures burn
And you whine
As the darkness starts to shine

All the light is now gone
As your fears all come together
Slithering inside your mind
Dragging you to the nether

It seems like hours
As the nightmare showers
Your head with fear
And upon your cheek a single tear

More fall down your face
As you struggle to wake
From this terrible dream
Making your mind shake

When you finally rise
Thinking your head had grown in size
From the terrible nightmare
As you start to repair

You head to your parents
Crying to them as they care
For you with open arms
Man, what a nightmare
