Chapter Two (@Kevins_Whovian)

Alexis P.O.V.

    Standing outside of the main gates of the school, I wait for Sienna and Holly to show up. I look at my phone again to see what time it is.

 “ALEX!”

    A voice calls in a sing-songy voice. I look to my right to see them arm in arm.

“Where have you girls been?”

    I ask when they get a little closer. Sienna looks at Holly, telling me almost everything that I needed to know.

“Was it a guy or shoes?”

    I ask and Holly blushes, I roll my eyes. 

"It was a guy, wasn’t it?”

    I make another guess.

“A guy that she isn’t even sure is going to be cute, or even if he is real.”

    Sienna says, losing me. Holly notices and starts to fill me in.

“You know that house next door to me that’s for sale?”

    Holly asks and I nod at her as they stop in front of me.

“Well, it’s no longer for sale!!”

    She adds on jumping up and down, bringing Sienna’s arm with her. Sienna tries to keep her arm still but it doesn’t work.

“So, what’s the big deal?”

    I ask laughing at her.

“Well the people are moving in today, and what if they have a son our age and he’s really, really, hot?!”

    I put my arm around hers, as she stops jumping. Arm in arm in arm, we start walking towards the school.

“Hotter than Mr. Nicholas?”

    Sienna asks looking at Holly then back towards the school.

“There’s no way a guy is hotter than him!”

    Holly says gently pushing into Sienna.

“Yeah, I know of a guy.”

    Sienna says looking around like she is keeping some big secret that no one will ever guess.

“Joe is so NOT hotter than Nick.”

   Holly says smiling. Sienna fakes a hurt face, like she can’t believe Holly would even think about thinking that.

“Yeah well Kevin’s the prettiest.”

    I say mater-of-factly. They both stop dead in their tracks, almost ripping of my arm as I keep walking. I stop and look at them.

“Pretty? Really, why can’t you just say ‘hot’ like the rest of us?”

    They ask at the same time. I stomp my foot in a joking way.

“Because, that would be boring. It’s so much more fun to watch people stare at me when I say ‘pretty’.”

    They both roll their eyes as I say this. We start walking again as people start glaring at us for blocking up most of the path.

“Anyway, Joe and Kevin are so not hotter… I’m sorry, prettier than Nick!”

    Holly says.

“It doesn’t matter who’s the prettiest or the hottest. We all know Kevin’s the talent.”

     I say quickly pulling my arm away from Holly and start shielding myself from them. I look at them to see why they weren’t attacking. Sienna was bending down picking something up, and Holly was standing away from the both of us. Sienna stands up and starts walking to me.

“Oh Alex.”

    She calls me with an evil smile. She holds up her hands showing me a frog.

“No.”

    I tell her as I back away.

“Then take that back.”

    She says plainly as she starts walking faster towards me. I start to run as fast as I can away from her.

“NEVER!”

    I yell as people turn and watch us.

“JUST TAKE IT BACK!”

    I turn and start running back to Holly. Who is falling over herself laughing.

“HOLLY! MAKE HER STOP! MAKE HER STOP!”

    She tries to look up at me and answer, but she can’t say a single word because she is laughing so hard. As she starts to hic-up: its one of those weird ticks people have when they start laughing too hard. She hic-ups, Sienna snorts, and I start laughing so hard you can’t hear anything.

“FINE! FINE! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Nick and Joe have loads of talent! Maybe more than Kevin. ”

    I say as I start to lose my breath, Sienna drops the frog and comes over to us.

“Now was that so hard?”

    She and Holly ask, and I fake a tear and nod ‘yes’.

“Does anyone have any Germ-X?”

    Sienna asks holding out her hands.

*after school, in Holly’s room*

“Worst." 

“Day.”

“Ever.”

    We say completing the thought together as we each say are own word. We all sit on Holly’s bed and throw our back-packs on the ground.

“Do we have to go back?”

    Holly asks.

“You would think that Senor year would be the best.”

    I add on.

“Maybe it’s something you have to grow into?”

    Sienna says. We sit there in the quiet for awhile.

“HOLLY! COME DOWN HERE PLEASE!”

    Holly’s mom breaks the silent as she comes in the front door down stairs.

“COMING MUM!”

    Holly yells back standing up.

“Be back."

    She tells Sienna and I as she walks out her door and down the stairs. I stand up and go over to Holly’s radio. I change the CDs and turn it on, quickly pressing the buttons making it go to the song I want.

“I walked across a crowed street

A sea of eyes cut through me

And I saw you in the middle---“

    The song starts to play and Sienna comes over and joins me by the radio.

“Take a Breath?”

    She guesses and I nod at her. She reaches out and starts to change the song.

“I know you love listening to that song while your up-set, but lets try this one.”

    Hold On starts to play as she stops pressing the buttons. We both grab one of Holly’s hair brushes and start using them as microphones. She sang as Joe and I sang as Nick, we started flinging ourselves around dancing to the music as Holly comes back.

“Hey, my mum wants me to go help the new people move in.”

    She tells us, we stop dancing and Sienna stops the music.

“We’ll go with you.”

    She says, walking towards Holly.

“Yeah there might be cute guys.”

    I say mocking Holly from earlier.
