"ANA!" I jolted awake to the sound of screams. I looked around, blinded by the bright morning sun.
"Pan, wake up," I said, shaking him awake. He rubbed his eyes and looked at me groggily. I bit back a smile and pulled myself up from the grass. "Over here!" I answered, stretching.
"There you are. We thought that you were kidnapped," said Lilibelle. I grinned shyly, thinking of last night. "Had us worried for nothing."
"Sorry," I said. "We should have said something."
"Yea, you should've."
"Anyways," I broke the awkward silence that had come upon us. "Should we keep going?"
"Let's wait for a while, maybe see if there's a portal here," said Pan. "I'll be back."
As soon as he left, my friends turned to look at me, as if waiting for an explanation. I smiled evilly and turned to walk into the forest.Suddenly, I was yanked to the floor.
"What's going on?" Questioned Nina while sitting on me so that I couldn't escape.
"I'll tell you, just get off so I can breathe," I wheezed. "Last night, I went walking after you two fell asleep. I needed to think about stuff. I happened to find Pan, and I decided to go talk. That's all." They eyed me curiously, but didn't question me further.
"When did the sky get cloudy?" Inquired Lilibelle. We looked up and saw a dark mass covering the sun. However, the "cloud" seemed to be moving closer and closer to the ground. Suddenly, and ear-shattering screech reached us, making me recoil at the sound.
"Those aren't clouds, they're flying monkeys," I yelled and pulled my friends deeper into the forest.
"Zelena's coming for you," I heard as Pan appeared in front of us. "There's no use running." Suddenly, I felt the sharp pain of claws against my skin and the ground disappeared from underneath them. I thrashed violently, screaming my lungs out, hoping that the creature would let me go. In the horizon, I saw a green portal appear and saw all of the terrifying animals enter it.
"Ana, don't panic. You'll end up like a pancake," I heard Pan beside me. Looking around me, I realized the animals had taken everyone. I sighed, defeated, and braced myself for the travel through worlds. I closed my eyes as we entered the portal, and suddenly felt the talons release my shoulders. I slumped to the ground and looked up.
"Well hello there darling." She leered.
