Draco knew what he had to do. So, he went to the Room of Requirements, where the twin of the cabinet on Borgin & Burke was. He had to fix it.
Meanwhile, Alice didn't know what was going on her mind. Why did she felt so different when she saw Draco? Did something else happened in that night that she couldn't remember? She knew nothing.
Finally, the play-offs for the Griffindor team in Quiddich. Ron wanted to be the Keeper. Hermione and Alice watched the play-offs, so as Lavander Brown, who Alice been known she was a huge crush on her brother, Ron. Lavander was very excited to watch the play-offs. She would see her crush playing. On the other hand, Alice felt a desire to be watching the Slytherin play-offs. She didn't know why, but she wanted. Of course Draco is the current Seeker of the team, and maybe Alice just wanted to see him."I have to go to the library." Alice said to Hermione. "I see you later." Alice got her robe and entered the castle. She went to the library to get a book about spells and saw Draco and his little group of friends. When Draco saw her, that feeling appeared again.
"Let's go outside? Maybe there's some first-years to joke with." Blaise said. "Draco, you come?"
"Yeah, I'm coming in a minute, go without me, I need a book from here." He said. Blaise and the others nodded and left the library. Now, Draco could put his plan on practice. He wanted Alice, and Alice he was going to get.Alice was still searching for a spells book when Draco stood next to her, with his smirk on his face.
"What do you want, Malfoy?" She asked.
"I've been wondering and, since you're very good at Potions, I thought if you might want to be my partner." Alice laughed quietly.
"And why the hell I might want to be your partner?"
"Well, I need some help, and as you can see, mudblood-Granger hates me. You're the only one that lefts."
"What about Harry? He hasn't any partner." She picked up a book.
"Do you really think that I want Potter? No way." She rolled her eyes.
"Merlin's Beard!" Draco bitted his lips. Alice looked very hot when annoyed. "What about your Slytherin friends?"
"Oh, come on, Weasley! If I asked you is because I'm not interested in the others." He got close to her. Her heart beat faster than lighting, she didn't know what caused that, but, Draco's presence made her act differently.
"Okay, I'll help you." Draco smiled, in victory. "But it will be only in Potions." Alice moved away. "And don't ever call Hermione mudblood!" She picked all her books and left the library, going to the Quiddich play-offs. Quickly she sat next to Hermione.
"What happened?" Hermione asked.
"Malfoy asked me to be his partner in Potions. And I said yes." Hermione's eyes widen.
"What? Why did you say yes?" 'Okay, I have to tell her.', Alice thought.
"I'll tell you later." Alice answered.Yes! Ron was chose as the Keeper of the Griffindor team (thanks to Hermione)! Alice felt a little bit happy to see her twin brother doing something he likes.
Finally, dinner came. Alice was a little bit like her brother. Sometimes she just liked to eat a lot, especially if it was her mother's food. Alice had a strong connection with her mother. She was the first girl she ever had. And her mother always supported Alice's choices. She seated facing the Slytherin table, as usual, and the dinner was served. Hermione stared at Alice with a frowned look. She wanted to know why Alice accepted to be Draco's potions partner. Why would she be doing that sort of thing with a natural enemy? Nothing was what she knew.
Next day was the same. Classes and more classes. But one thing was different for Alice. She couldn't stop thinking about Draco. After what happened, he haven't talked to her, ever. Why, in all of a sudden, would he want her as partner? These were all questions that no one but Draco could answer.
In the middle of the afternoon, they had Potions class once more. Professor Slughorn entered the classroom smiling and the class began."Hello students." He started. "Today what I am going to ask you is a work in pairs. You'll choose the partner you want for, in the following week, make one of the first five potion on the index of your books." Alice looked at Draco and his expression meant: 'Will you make this with me?' "I give you five minutes to choose a partner and decide what potion you will be making." Professor Slughorn smiled and quickly Hermione stood next to Alice.
"Are you going to be his partner?" Hermione whispered.
"I told him I would be his partner in Potions, I'm sorry, Mione." Alice apologised.
"Why him?" She was confused.
"I don't know. I just thought it would be nice to have a partner from a different house." She lied. In fact, the reason why Alice accepted to be Draco's partner was related to what happened between them last year. Maybe if she had a reason to be with him she could find answers.
"Whatever. I'm probably be with Ginny. Well, don't let him be rude to you, okay?" Hermione gave a humble smile and left Alice. As soon as Alice was alone, Draco stood next to her.
"You said you would be my partner." Draco gave a smirk.
"I know. Thanks for the reminder." She gave a sarcastic smile. "Anyway, what should we do?" She asked him, while opening the potions book, searching for the index.
"Maybe the easiest?" He suggested.
"I was thinking about the Pepperup Potion." She said. "It looks easy and we only need a few plants."
"Great, it seems like we have a work to do." Draco, once more, smirked.
"Where can we arrange to work on this?" She asked.
"In the Astronomy tower. Not many people go there."
"Nice. Well, what about after the class?"
"Making the potion after the class?" He frowned.
"Yeah." She wrote something. "You will get these plants and then meet me in the Astronomy tower. I'll be there with a caldron and everything we need. Okay?"
"Yeah, sure." He picked up the paper with all the plants they needed and he stood there, reading it while waiting for the class to continue.Fortunately, Professor Slughorn said that the rest of the class would be dispensed, so, Draco went to get the plants and Alice brought all the equipment needed. When she arrived the Astronomy tower, Draco was not there yet. While waiting, Alice stood by the balcony, appreciating the amazing view in front of her.
Meanwhile, Draco already had the plants when he was inside the Astronomy tower. He went upstairs, quietly and found Alice by the balcony, with a relaxed expression. 'She is beautiful.' Draco thought. 'So beautiful that she will never be mine, again.' Dazed by the beauty of Alice, Draco drops a vase that makes Alice jump of fright."Merlin's Beard, Draco! You scared the hell out of me!" Alice said, while approximating to Draco. "Did you brought everything?" He nodded. "Good. Let's get started."
Alice got everything ready and opened the book in the receipt of the potion. Step by step, Alice and Draco completed the potion, ready to be shown in the next class.
"I think it's perfect." Alice said, while smiling. Draco smiled too, catching a glimpse of Alice. Without knowing, he accidentally touched Alice's hand. Alice started having these flashbacks on her mind that showed what happened that night. Alice next to Draco in his bed, her arms around his neck, and her lips on his lips.
"Are you okay?" He asked. She looked at him, watching his worried look.
"I'm fine." She stood up. "I have to go..."
"Wait!" Draco said, standing up as well. "What about the potion? Where are we going to keep it?"
"I don't know..." Alice said, shaking a little bit. These memories just made her nervous around Draco. "Just keep it wherever you want." She turned around to leave but Draco hold her wrist.
"Are you really okay?" He asked again. "Why are you so nervous?" She looked deeply into his blur grey eyes.
"It's none of your business, Malfoy." She let go of him and ran away from the astronomy tower.Alice ran the fastest she could to her room and, luckly, she found Hermione on the way to it.
"Wow, are you okay, Alice?" Hermione asked. Alice was on the verge to tears, so, Hermione hold her hand and took her to the room both shared. Alice sat on her bed and started to cry. "Are you going to tell me?"
"I was doing the potion with Draco and, we were finished when he, I suppose, accidentally touched my hand and I had all these flashbacks." Alice tried to tell, as tears trailed down her face.
"What flashbacks?"
"Last year, when the Slytherins had their party, I got in that party somehow. I don't remember much, but I remember waking up the next day in the same bed as Malfoy and the feeling I kissed him." Hermione's jaw dropped. How could Alice do such thing as that?
"What? How?" Hermione was anything but confused. "But why are you crying?"
"Because I felt so nervous and weird, like, somehow..."
"You like him?" Hermione completed and Alice nodded.
"I just feel so different around him. Sometimes I feel like I want to vomit, other times, I just want to see him." Alice looked at Hermione.
"That's why you sit facing their table, right? I noticed that." Hermione asked and Alice nodded. "That's okay, Alice, you don't get to choose who you fall for."
"I just feel like this is so wrong. We are from different houses, but worst of all, enemies houses and our families obviously hate each other. From all the people why him?" Alice made a confused face and Hermione gave a humble smile.
"I won't be against you, ever. It's your decision. But if he likes you the same way, and, most important, he cares about you then I don't have nothing to do with you. I just want you to be happy, that's all." Alice hugged Hermione.
"Thank you. I just ask you to not tell my brother or Ginny. They can't know about this." Alice gave a little smile.
"Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me."
