Patsy's pov.

I let my self into nonnatus as quietly as possible, I tiptoed up the stairs and along the corridor until I came Across mine and Trixie's bedroom door. I lowered the handle and pushed open the door. Trixie was facing me as she slept. I slipped around her bed and layed on top of mine still in yesterday's uniform. I wished I could wake Trixie and tell her how amazing last night had been with Delia but even her, my best friend in the house, wouldn't understand my ways. She always says how I need to find myself a man to wisk me away.

"patsy, patsy" Trixie was standing over me as I fluttered my eyelids awake. "you didn't come back before we went to sleep we were all terribly worried what if something had happened to you.

" I'm fine Trixie, I went down to the docks to catch some fresh air, I had been awfully worked up after the delivery last night, I needed some time to gather my thoughts again"

"you know, you can talk to us patsy, that's why were all here, you don't need to keep things to your self if they're bothering you, being a midwife is one of the most rewarding yet the most heart touching jobs"

"yes I know, thank you Trixie, I'll talk to one of you next time "

" good, now come on, sister Winifred has been baking " that's always a good sigh, sister Winifred is the best cook at nonnatus her food is the best.
