Love affair

It is said that we have soulmates that are designed from us from birth. They will bring us eternal happiness and make us forget about our past problems. We will begin our perfect life together and live happily ever after. That's what everyone wants right? To be able to just run off and believe no one can harm them or anything as long as they fall in love?

That isn't correct. From what I have experienced, love is like a flame. Some flames roar and let the world awe at it's glory and beauty while others are just dying embers, forgotten about feelings that are easily pushed aside. people take advantage of what they have and treat it carelessly. They think that it will last forever and no one can take it from you. But trust me, it can be taken. I was once the foolish girl who thought that if I fell in love, everything would just fall into place. I realize now when I am actually falling, it takes effort to know what your flame needs. I wish I had known this before I fell and hit the ground hard. But I didn't and now I have to fight to keep my flame from being extinguished by the very hand that brought it to life.

Hey! I started writing this out of sheer boredom and encouragement from my besties IDontKissAndTell and dreamgirl35. They are the two most wonderful people on this planet! The reason I dedicated this to IDontKissAndTell is because she may be going to DC soon and I'm so excited for her! This story is based entirely in DC and maybe a little in New York so be prepared!!!!
