Madison

I can't believe what I'm seeing. There's blood all along the street. The car bursts into flames. I get out my phone and call the police and the fire department.

Hello? This is the police
station what's your
emergency?

There's a car crash.
Someone got hit on the
sidewalk, and the car is-

And then I'm on the ground. There's flames and shattered glass everywhere. I try to get to my feet, but I'm stopped by a piercing pain in my arm. I look down and see the cut from the huge piece of glass lying beside me, covered in blood.

The car exploded.

I hear the person on the phone yelling to me to see what happened.

Hello? Hello! What was
that loud noise?! Are you
alright??!!?

I crawl my way to the sidewalk with my 1 good arm and say to her,

Yes, I'm fine, but the
car blew up. I'm at the
at the corner of Alpine
Street.

We'll be right there.
Stay where you are.

I lie my head down on the pavement and look up at the clouds. I hear a slight *buzz* from my phone and I see it's Allison. I pick up my phone and dial her number.

Hey, whats up?

I was on my way to
the bus stop and I
heard a scream so I
looked around the
corner to see what it
was...

I was trying to hold back my tears but the whole incident was too scary. I start crying like a baby.

Madison? What's wrong?
Why are you crying?? What
happened?

I looked and there was
blood everywhere and I
called the police and then
the car blew up. I could
have died Allison.

Oh, Madi... It's gonna
be okay. I'm sure the
fire department and an
ambulance is coming.
You're going to be fine.

She pauses for a brief moment.

I promise.

The line goes dead so we have to hang up, as I take the phone from my ear I can hear the sirens ringing in the distance. I look behind me and see that the house I was standing beside wasn't too damaged. Just a lot of black marks along the side.

Someone comes outside and looks around at what had happened. So do many other parents ready to go to work. The one that came out of the house sees me and runs over.

"Are you alright? What happened?" She had light brown hair, and blue eyes. From the way she looked she is about 24.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just have a little cut on my arm," she examines my arm as I continue, "There was a car crash and a few minutes after it exploded and it threw me backwards."

About 15-20 people were standing around me as I explained. The woman who originally came out of the house put my good arm around her shoulder and took me to the bench she has in front of her house while she got me some water.

She comes back outside as the ambulance pulls up, followed by the police cars and fire truck.

They put me on a stretcher and carry me onto the ambulance.

Allison

29 days left.

I haven't heard from Madison in the past 2 days and I'm so worried. I was watching the news in my room last night to see what happened. A drunk driver hit a 13 year old on his way to school. That poor kid.

They were talking about how in the car explosion a 14 year old girl was injured and being watched for a few days in the hospital, that was probably Madison...

I'm lying in bed when I get a phone call.

Hello?

Hello... This is
Madison's mom.
