"Watch your backs. I am in New York now. Catch me if you can." Sweat started dripping down my back as I read. My hands started to shake and before I knew it I was on my knees with tears streaming down my face. Jace had his arms around me trying to calm me down. It wasn't working. Finally Magnus spoke "How are we going to find him?" Alec glared, " Well you are the High Warlock of Brooklyn I would think you would know."
"Alexander I think it would be best if you didn't push your anger at me now this is a serious matter. You can be a child and whine and complain later."
Alec stood their appalled by the comment his ex boyfriend just made.
"Get off your high horse, Magnus, you aren't perfect. You were the one drank last night."
"I wouldn't have been drunk if you didn't drive me to it." Magnus argued
"DROVE YOU TO IT?!? You were the one who broke up with me you know?"
"BECAUSE YOU MADE ME!! You betrayed me and now you have to suffer the consequences. Believe me, Alexander, I would love to just have you back in my life and forget everything but then you would make the same mistakes again."
"How do you know that?" Alec asked taking a step toward Magnus, "Magnus, I am deeply and unconditionally in love with you and it hurts because you don't feel the same for me." Alec reached out and grabbed the warlocks hand before he could pull away, "Please , Magnus, I need you. I am not asking you to forget I am asking you to forgive." The warlock took his hand away from the shadowhunters and walked slowly toward the door. "Prove it." Magnus said as he walk out of the door. "Clary," Jace whispered, "He won't hurt you."
" We don't know that." I whispered. "Yes, I do he will never get close to you ever. He will have to go through me." I looked up to Jace's intense stare and our eyes locked. "So Magnus was right what are we going to do?" Alec finally said after minutes of silence. "We track him," Jace explained, " Maybe the heavenly fire in me can help." "No, Absolutely not," I yelled, " Jace, you know nothing about the Heavenly Fire. You could get hurt." "I will do anything to keep you safe," He said compassionately, " if that means risking myself then it is done." I tried to object one more time but he just shut me down. "ANYTHING." Jace said and walked out the door. I started to chase after him, but when I got to the door someone grabbed my arms and was pulling me backward. I turned around to see who it was and Magnus was standing behind me. His eyes were pitch black. Then black dots started to fog my vision and the rest of the world went into darkness.
