"The monster emerged from the morning mists in the pearly light of dawn" I read to Laila as she turns another book close and look closely to what I'm reading.

 "Monster?" she asks.

"I think I'm gonna buy this" I flip the book once more. "The back read is in the first page, weird"

"That makes it intriguing"

"yeah, I wouldn't buy it if it's not recommended" Miss Ann, our English teacher, recommended the book. She told us that it was based on true events that would change the history of our lives. And it's a full-packed action adventure. Well that's my thing. Aside from it, I wanted a dystopian-kind of story where I will be happy, sad, embarrass, cry, and hurt. Which will take me to another life full of action. And it'll change my life forever.

The lady in the counter smiles at us as we approach her. "Here" we gave our books to the lady whose name is Jolly, I saw her pin, what a lovely name. We gave our payments and walk side by side and banish to the bookstore.

I saw a group of people rounding something or someone perhaps, down the road. It's not yet twilight but the scenery makes it glum.

"where are we going next?" Laila asks.

Concentrating in the odd scenery I replied "home?"

"That would be great but we need to reroute" she said matter-of-factly, her eyes still locked in the chaos.

 "Aren't you curious?"

"Hell no"

"But there's no screaming"

"Bea you're very not clever do you know that?"

"Alright. Lets take a bus then" We stopped walking and wait for a bus. My eyes still curious about the chaos but my instinct says "get the hell outa here you little shanky girl"

The bus is almost full. There is two seats left, both in the aisle side. The window sides are occupied by a lady and a man with a hoodie that covering his eyes. Laila look at me and grin, "I'll take the lady side"

"Whatever" I said with a smirk. She take her seat in front of me and I take my seat beside the guy. I smelled something flowery and sweet as I seat. I smell myself and find my hair in a strawberry fragrance. But that's not a flower tho. So I look at the sleeping guy. His nose is so pointed that I envied him because it's too perfect. And he has a thin red lips. Mine is pink but not so thin and thick. The man move and I quickly look away. I discover myself looking at Laila's ginger head. I also wanted to be a ginger but my hair is too sable to be a ginger. Well, that's my favorite part of Laila's body. The move again and i feel myself froze a bit. He is wearing a black Nike and I am wearing that too! Nike is my favorite. It's really fun running in a Nike shoes.

"Hey, let's go" Laila snapping her fingers to me.

"Yeah come on" I said and I took one last glance to the man who is now looking outside the window. I stand whilst the bus is slowly decelerating. I stand after Laila and hold on to the bar above me whilst waiting for the bus to stop. When the bus stops, Laila and I, together with other passengers, walk towards to bus door. I was occupied with the thought of the man sitting beside me when I lost my balance and almost stumble. Gladly someone caught me in my arms and helped me regain my stance.

"Watch your step and be careful" I looked at guy who helped me and was shocked to see the hoodie guy in front of me.

 "th-tha-thank you" I stuttered.

"No worries" he smiles and points his hand to the door. Gentleman I thought. I reply an awkward smile and walk quickly and carefully.

"What took you so long?" Laila asks me as I approach her.

"I stumbled and it wasn't that long tho"

"You what?" and she laughs "you are such a careless shanky girl"

"Whatever Lai"
