I had forgotten how socially awkward and shy I was until I shut the door behind Ian. What the hell was I thinking? Having a girl in our room? This was going to be a long night.

I turned around and took a couple steps in when she flipped.

"You touch me I throw you out that window."

Shit. She looked dead serious. I put my hands up and slowly sank into Ryan's bed. She wanted to know my name. I didn't introduce myself earlier? Jeez. No wonder she wasn't trusting me, she didn't even know my first name.

"Jamie." I was going to say more but she cut me off.

"Chloe."

"Yea, I know" well now I look like a dick. I should probably filter what I say before I say it. But she didn't look mad..

"Uh....You know, you can sit. On that." Realizing how stupidity sounded I quickly added, "If you want. I mean standings cool too, I guess."

Good going Sherlock. Maybe she didn't want to sit, that's probably why she's standing.

Jeez Jamie. Pull yourself together.

Chloe took a seat cross legged on the edge on the bed, putting her bag next to her. We sat there for a couple of seconds watching each other.

"So..."

"So..."

"Are you hungry?" Girls like food. Everyone likes Food. Food is a good thing.

She looked at the clock. "It like...3 AM."

"So that's a yes" I said.

"I never said that."

"You never said no either. Did you want me to order something?"

Finally I got a smile from her. "No, thanks. I have some stuff in my bag. Why? Are you hungry?"

"Sure." I stood up and walked over to my bag and pulled out a bag of sour watermelon patch kids.

I turned around and sat back on Ryans bed. She was pulling out a bag of something from her bag too.

Watermelon sour patch kids.

Chloe looked over and saw me with my bag. "Shut up."

"You too? I'm like addicted to these things. These and skittles."

"UM yes." she opened her bag. She seemed to be warming up.

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes, eating.

"So...do you do this often?"

I gave her a questioning look.

"Hole people up in your hotel room?"

"Oh. Um...nope. You're the first actually."

"Oh. So what happens now?"

I thought about it for a minute. "Wait, do you have your own room?"

She paused, and started picking at a loose thread in the sheets. "Well...no. I was going to rent a car when it got light and take off."

"Where you heading?"

"Nowhere." She flicked her eyes over to me.

"Ohkay?" I shrugged her comment off. Before I could continue she asked me a question

"Why did you take me in."

"Because..." I couldn't think of a real reason to be honest. It just felt right.

"Because?"

"I don't know. I was trying to be nice."

She stopped questioning me, and we returned to silence. I could tell she had something on her mind though, because she opened and closed her mouth a couple times, trying to find words.

"So why are the four of you running around together..?" She asked, hesitantly

"We're friends." I didn't know if I wanted to play the 'I'm in a band card' on her yet.

"Ohhh I see. 'Friends'?" she gave me a look.

"What?"

"You and Nash then Blondie and Ian. It explains the fashionable styles you've got going on." She said, pointing to Ryan's suitcase.

Oh. No.

"Noooo no no. You've got the wrong idea." I smiled, laughing at the idea that Ryan and Ian in a romantic relationship. "And if you wanna see fashionistas, I'd look in Ian and Nash's bags too. No, we're just really good friends." I paused and decided to just spit it out. "We're actually band mates..."

She stopped picking at the sheet and looked up at me. "Wait seriously?"

"Seriously."

"What band?"

"Hot Chelle Rae"

Chloe thought about it for a minute.

"It's been a really really messed up week, seven days of touture seven days of bitter..."

She looked at me, waiting. I sighed and then finished the verse.

"And my girlfriend went and cheated on me. She's a California dime but its hard for me to quit her."

"La la la," she was smiling so I went along with it.

"Whatever,"

"La la la,"

"It doesn't matter,"

"La la la,"

"Oh well,"

"La la la." Chloe giggled. "So you're THAT band."

She had a really nice laugh. Contagious. "Yep...I don't sing though. I play the drums."

"Ohh okay. Let me guess...Nash plays the guitar."

"How'd you know?"

"His whole 'ima rockstar' comment to those guys...typical guitarist." She thought about it for a minute. "And Ian is the main singer."

"Haha..no. Ian plays bass. Ryan does lead vocals."

She scrunched up her face. "Seriously? Blondie?"

"Yes, 'Blondie'." Chloe lied down on her back and was staring at the ceiling. "You tired?"

"Nah.." She yawned.

"Not very convincing" I smiled. She turned her head over to look at me.

"I'm not."

"Okay, whatever." I lied down too.

"Jamie?"

"Yea?"

"Promise me you won't move from that bed. If I do fall asleep."

"So you are tired." I looked over at her. She was curled up on her side, looking at me.

"No. It's just in case. You said no funny business. Remember?"

"No funny business," I reassured her. "From me or any of the guys. But I promise you I'll stay in this bed until you get up from yours. Deal?"

"Deal." Chloe stretched. "I don't know why I'm trusting you.."

"Because."

"Because isn't an answer."

"Sometimes, it's all you need."

She thought about it for a couple minutes. "I guess." She was fighting sleep in her voice. I waited a couple minutes and, sure enough, she fell asleep. Her rhythmic breathing made me sleepy too.

Looking over at the clock, I turned off the light and got under the covers. 4 AM? Already? It wasn't such a long night after all.
