In The Maze

Chapter 7

    "Good night Em." He says to me. " Em?" I question. " Yeah." He says " You don't like it?"
    "I love it." I whisper. I think it's adorable that he thought up a nickname for me.
"Good night, Newt." I say. I can hear him roll over in the dark. " Goodnight, Em." That puts a smile on my face. I close my eyes and start to drift away...
    I wake up with Rosalind still on my chest.
My eyes open and I see Newt, awake and playing with my hair. " Good morning." I say.
    " Good morning, love." He says to me, smiling warmly. " How long have been awake?" I ask, now propping myself on my elbows.
"About 20 minutes." He says. " Do you want me to change Rosalind?" I nod and hand Rosalind to him. I comb my finger through my tangled hair, deciding I don't need a shower until tomorrow. When Newt finishes changing Rosalind I take her back, now much more awake and feed her. I finish feeding her and I dress her in a new onesie. I look down at the diminishing box of onesies and decide to do laundry tomorrow. Once Rosalind is ready, I grab my faded floral dress and duck behind the tree to change. When I'm done, I sit with Rosalind and play with the grass blades to let Newt change. I hear his footsteps behind me, and look up to see him putting a Daisy in my hair. He sees me watching, and smiles sweetly.
" Ready for breakfast?" He asks. I nod and hand him Rosalind so I can get up. He still holds her and we start making our way to Frypan's kitchen.

Newt's POV:
We walk to the kitchen, me balancing Rosalind on my hip. We walk up to Frypan, and he hands Em two plates of scrambled eggs on toast. We find an empty table. I look up from stuffing my face to see Alby walk over and sit down. " Your baby hut is finished." Alby says to us. " They built a crib and a changing table, and they made a bed for you two. After breakfast you guys can move in the stuff and arrange it how you'd like." We nod and I go back to stuffing my face.
    Emalee and I walk into the hut. It's a decent size. I see a crib and a  changing table. Next to it there's a full size bed, which I'm guessing is Emalee's and mine. I hear a knock on the door. " Come in!" I say. Minho and Thomas walk in, carrying boxes. " We brought the rest of your stuff." Thomas says. I take the box from him and put it down. " Thanks." I say taking the box and mattress from Minho. They flash smiles and leave. "Okay." I say to Emalee." Let's get cracking."
