Jack's Point of View

No matter what I do, I can't get my mind off Jess. I can't stop thinking about who it was that answered Jess's phone that day. I'm so pissed that this happens every time. I'm supposed to go to this dinner with my cousins tonight, but can you blame me for not wanting to go? I guess it might get my mind off this, but nothing else I've done has. Besides the point, I have to go, my mom is making me. Jack always comes to things like this with me. He's like family. Some of my cousins usually bring friends too.

The dinner's at six tonight so decided I better start getting ready. Jack should be here soon. I got in the shower and when I was almost done I heard the garage door open. I guess Jack is here. I got dressed and went downstairs to see if he was here. It wasn't Jack, it was Jess. "Hey Jess." I greeted her.

"Long time no see." She laughed.

"That's on you." I joked.

"Sorry I never called you back Friday." She appologized.

"It's good. Where were you? When I called someone else answered your phone." I questioned her.

"I was at a party the night before and passed out there." She answered. Typical. I had assumed it was something like that, I just don't like thinking about what happened at the party. "Where are you going? You're a little dressed up." She asked.

"Dinner with some of my cousins, Jack should be here soon. He's going with me." I told her. The sunlight from outside was hitting Jess perfectly. Her eyes were so blue and gleaming in the light. The light was bouncing off her blonde hair so perfectly. She's so beautiful. She's always been beautiful. I snapped out of my thoughts. "So whatchya doin here?" I asked.

"I was bored and I haven't seen you in a while." She told me. Of course, she was bored. That's why she was here. Jack walked in the door. "Hey Jack." Jess said.

"Sup." He replied.

"I guess I'll leave you guys to get to your dinner, see ya later." Jess left, that was a quick stop. We do have to leave pretty quick though.

When we got to the dinner we went to the back deck where my cousins were. I sat sat next to Jack in the only two open seats left. The person on the other side of me was Jake's friend, her name was Allison. The dinner was going good, I guess. I'm still upset, about Jess. I don't really know why I'm still upset about this because it's not like this is the first time it's happened. I just couldn't get my mind off of it. Jake usually takes us to a party or something along those lines after these things though. That will for sure get my mind off this.

I was zoning out of conversations and I felt like I was being so rude. I was just sitting there over thinking so many things. I finally started to forget about my own thoughts for a little while, and I started talking to Allison. She was alright. I got on my phone and looked through some snapchat stories. Jess had posted one a few minutes ago, it was her in the car with some guy. Was that the guy who answered her phone? I was furious. I didn't have a rightful reason to be, but I was.

I got my wallet out to pay my bill and get out a tip to leave. Jake gave me the address to where we were going, I got in my car with Jack and we left. We got to the party and it did look alright. I just wanted to get drunk and forget about my problems for a while.

I walked in and made my way to get some alcohol. I ran into Allison while I was walking. "Hey." I laughed a little.

"Hey." She said. "What took you so long to get here?"

"Got stuck behind a train." I answered her question.

"Gotchya. Well wanna beer?" She asked me.

"Yep." I took the drink. Allison and I were making our way over to see Jake and then I saw someone. Someone I thought I was happy to see until...

"Hey  Jack!" It was Jess, and she was with the same guy that was in her snapchat. Why'd she have to be with him?

"Hey Jess." I replied. "This is Allison."

"This is Sammy." She introduced Sammy to Allison and I. I 've never seen Jess hangout with a guy she just met for this long. What is going on? Who is Sammy? We all talked for a second and then we were on our ways. That pissed me off, I smacked my drink and got another. Allison and I were having fun I guess. Well she seemed to be.

Six drinks later I was doing something I didn't think I'd be doing tonight. I wasn't happy about what I was doing, but it was happening and I was too drunk to stop it.
