CHAPTER 3
"Ok, so maybe I should explain what happened after elementary" He said
"That would be great, considering you totally disappeared without me knowing"
"Look I'm sorry, but the truth is, I was afraid to tell you."
"Why?"
"You won't know unless you know it all. Anyway, so after 5th grade graduation, I spent most of my summer at an Electronic Building Camp. That's where I met a girl named Makayla, who apparently went to our school, and would be coming to our middle school. Let's just say, we got put together for a project and kinda fell in love. So one day I asked her out and she said yes. But of course, I found out that she'd been cheating on me with some guy named Ryan. He was also at the camp, but I never saw him. So I dumped her and was thinking of getting back in touch with you when I realized something."
"What? What did you realize?" I asked curiously.
"That you weren't just a friend to me anymore. I had fallen in love with you."
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG HE LIKES ME?????? UGH HOW COULD HE NOT SAY HE DID?????
Sorry, I had to get that out. It's a happy moment!
"Then my dad got in an accident, and he died. You know, he worked for the police, and a robber shot him in the head. We didn't have enough money after the funeral, so we had to move to California to live with my Grandma Poppy. I wanted to tell you, but I was afraid that I would spill my feelings about you, then if you didn't feel the same way, you would think I'm weird and disappear from my life forever." He explained.
"Well, I wouldn't go THAT far..." I tell him.
"Anyway, in California I made a friend named Bartholomew. He was pretty cool, and a little weird, but had great advice. So one day we were talking and I started to tell him about you, and whatnot. So he asked me if we were together, and I said no, and that you lived in Nebraska still. He asked me what stopped me from asking you before I moved and I explained that I was scared to. So all he said to me was this. ""Imagine your standing on the side of the Grand Canyon. Your friend throws a ball to you. If you catch it, you'll keep it, but if you don't it's gone forever."" At that point I realized what I needed to do. So I got a job, and saved up money till about last week, all so I could come see you and tell you what I needed to say." He was blushing at this point.
Omg.
OMG.
O.M.G
HE CAME ALL THE WAY FROM CALIFORNIA ALL FOR ME.

"And what I needed to say..." He went on
"Yes?"
"Will you go out with me? Just once."
"Oh, I don't know... I mean, you totally didn't leave the state and not tell me, broke my heart to a million pieces in doing so, but sure. Why not?" I can't help to giggle when I say this.
"Say, the cafe? At 6 tomorrow?"
"Sounds cool."
"So I'll see you then? Do I need to pick you up?"
"No, I have a ride."
Well, the truth is I don't, I plan to just walk, but I didn't want him to give me a ride.
Not yet anyway."Ok, well then I guess I'll see you then! I... Yeah."
"Yep, see ya..."
Then he walked away.
On my way home, I pulled out my phone.
In my calendar I put: THE START OF SOMETHING AMAZING.
