"Tha- thank you, for rescuing me. And not killing them." I mumble as I lean my head into his hand that was still examining my wound and close my eyes, exhausted from today's events. I never thought I would feel so safe with him. I feel myself slowing drifting off to sleep, my head still resting in Khan's hand. I feel his other hand move up the side of my face, causing me to lazily open my eyes. He was staring at my with his head tilted, looking confused but relaxed. I smile at him as I start to close my eyes again but was interrupted by his lips pressing against mine. His hands weaved their way through my hair as he pulled me in closer, deepening the kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck, surprised by the random act of affection from Khan. He removed his hands from my head and cleared his throat as he stood up. Ending the kiss sooner than I would have liked.
"Goodnight River." He says quietly as he exited the room. Leaving me there, dazed and confused.

'what just happened?' I think to myself, my fingers tracing my lips as I stare off into space. I close my eyes, sleep still welcoming me, but it would be much more comfortable to sleep in my own bed rather than on this medical table. I push myself off the table with a grunt, still sore from the beating I took in London. The ice cold floor against my bare feet caused me to let out a squeak as I quickly rushed down the dark halls back to my bed room. I open the door and jump onto my bed, pulling the thin sheets up around me, allowing sleep to take over.
"Im running down the streets of London, an unknown enemy chasing me at full speed. Sweat dripping off my face, my heart beat quickening with ever stride. I feel a body tackle me to the concrete, slamming my body to the ground. I feel my bones breaking, my head spinning, my heart stopping-"
I lurch forward, screaming, covered in sweat and tears. 'It was just a dream' I shakily look around the room, making sure I was really awake. My hands shakily push back my messy hair, as I take deep slow breaths, trying to calm myself down. 'Water, water would be nice right now.' I swing my legs off the bed, heading off towards the kitchen. Khan no longer locked my door at night, allowing me the freedom to eat at night, which he knows Im a fan of. I quietly walk down the hall, my arms crossed, making me feel secure. "Why does this ship have to be so big?" I mumble as I take a left, heading towards the kitchen door. Swooshh The door flies open, allowing me access to the large metal kitchen. I grab a metal cup and fill it with the cold, purified water. Satisfied with the amount of water, I head back to my room. The kitchen door closes behind me as I shuffle my way down the hallways, ready to get back into my warm bed. "We really need to install some lights in these hallways, maybe some bright ones at least." I say, frustrated by the lack of lighting. I take a right down one of the many hallways while sipping at my water.
Water splashes all down my faces as I collide with what I thought was a wall. "What the-"
"Jesus River!" Khan growls, also covered in water. He flicks his hand and rubs the water off of his face giving me a glare that could kill.
"Oh God, Khan im sorry. But really you need some lights in these hallways." I mumble, giving him my best glare.
"Why are you out of your room, its 3:00 AM?" Khan says groggily, obviously exhausted. I rub my arms together, looking at the cup laying on the ground, embarrassed that I woke Khan up because of a nightmare.
"I couldn't sleep, I had a nightmare. I didn't mean to wake you." I say quietly as I bend down to pick up the spilled cup. I hear Khan clear his throat as he shifts from one foot to the other. I feel my face get red as I remember that Im wearing nothing but a tank top and my underwear. I straighten back up with the cup in one hand in my face in the other. "Im just going to- God goodnight Khan" I say as I quickly push past him, hearing him sigh.
