I knocked swiftly with a shaky hand. I looked at Alannah and shot a excited nervous smile. I was about to meet one of my crushes, what is life right now?!
"It's open" I heard Dianna yell.
I latched on to the doorknob with shaky fingers and opened the door. I bit my lip and walked as fast as my shaky legs would allow. Alannah grabbed my hand to help me keep standing.
I got to the living room, and there, sitting next to Jack the dog, was Sammy Davis Jr. I felt my heart jump up to my throat, and my grip on Alannah's hand tightened.
"Say something!" Alannah whispered in my ear
I realized I probably should, since I kinda looked a little stupid just staring at Sammy with my mouth open and my body shaking.
"Hi!" I said
"Hello, sweetie" Sammy responded, standing up. I think my heart just stopped.
Sammy opened up his arms for a hug, and I gladly complied. I heard the snap of a camera phone. Alannah must've taken a picture.
"Come sit next to me" Sammy said, gesturing to the couch
"Ok, move baddogg" I said, calling Jack by his nickname.
I sat down next to Sammy, while Alannah sat down on another seat.
"'So" Sammy said, taking my shaking right hand "How old are you, sweetie?"
"18" I replied
"What grade are you in?" He asked
"I just graduated from high school" I said
" wow, you're practically an adult now" Sammy said
"Yeah, just need to act like it" I said with a laugh, which Sammy returned
"Don't feel too bad, I don't act my age much either" he chuckled
I smiled as I giggled. He was being so adorable!
The rest of the time was spent talking. Sammy revealed that he was moving here to Hutchinson and he was staying with Dianna until he found a place.
