A princess doesn't tell lies. A princess doesn't hate the man she is betrothed to.

I woke up, still in my dress from yesterday morning. I didn't feel as if I should get out of bed, I thought of Hunter and Chase. What was I to do? What was I going to say? And what was I going to tell my mother!

"Mary Anne?!" I called to a friend of mine that worked as a maid in the castle.

"Yes miss Willow?"

"Can we talk for a moment?" I notice prince Chase was gone, what a douche I thought to myself, but I quickly erased it, a women should not think that way, she must have cleansed thoughts.

"Of course my lady, what is the problem?"

"I don't think I can marry prince Chase," I sighed as I looked away from her.

"I'll go with you to talk to your mother if you like," she lightly rubbed my shoulder.

"You would do that?" She was also my best friend, we've been together since we were little children, her mother worked here and she took the job after her mother passed.

"Of course, you are still my best friend Willow Tree," I looked at her with a tear falling down my face, I hugged her tightly letting myself sob into her.

"Can we tell her now? Is she busy?"

"She's having her afternoon tea, she shouldn't be busy lets tell her."

We walked out into the garden, my mother sitting on a stone bench. I sat down next to her and Mary Anne stood behind her.

"Mother?"

"Yes dear?"

"I don't want to marry prince Chase," she looked over at me, giving her cup to Mary Anne.

"Leave us servant," Mary Anne turned to leave and I pulled on her skirt.

"You will not talk to my friend that way, and you will listen to what I have to say," Mary Anne smiled as I stood up for her and myself. I had never talked back to her before but it felt good, very good.

"What is wrong with him?" she looked at me with a very displeased look on her face.

"Excuse my language mother, but he is a douche and a wimpy little boy that knows nothing of other people, he doesn't understand my hair, he doesn't like the real me, but I found someone who does. I love him mother," she nodded her head and stood.

"I will not force you to marry him, but you will bring me the boy you fell for," I hugged her tightly then grabbed Mary Anne's hand. We walked away to the other side of the garden.

"Did you see me Mary bear?"

"I did Willow Tree, you did very well, I am very proud of you, for now though, you must go get ready, I will send for your lover," I hugged her tightly whispering in her ear.

"I love you Mary Anne. Thank you so much."

"I love you too Willow."
