Jane's POV
***********
There's nothing better than waking up to the sound of my mom screaming at me. Not. When my day starts off like this, I know it's not going to be a good one. And to top it off it's a Monday.I look at my clock and realize that I'm running late. I quickly grab some clothes and put them on. Next, I put on some mascara, but that's about all I do for makeup.
I wonder if Xavier is going to be starting school today? Ugh, I don't know why I'm thinking this. He was a big jerk yesterday, slamming the window in my face. I mean, I know I snapped at him. I had just been sent to my rook by my mom for doing nothing wrong. But before I even had the chance to apologize, he slammed the freaking window.
Deciding not to bother thinking about this "situation" any longer, I grab my school bag and head out to the bus stop.
On my way to the bus stop I see that I have missed the bus and end up murmuring some colorful words.
"Now who knew a girl like you would know some words like that?" Came a voice from beside me. I looked over to see Xavier on a motorcycle. I didn't even notice that he had pulled up.
" What are you doing here? And you're going to make me even later for school." I said with a frown realizing how late I actually was.
"Well, hop on, I can give you a ride to school. I start today anyway." He said with a smirk.
" No thanks, I'm fine walking. I would rather be late than ride on one of those." I said pointing at the motorcycle. There was no way I was getting on that thing.
I started making my way to school, but to much of my dismay, Xavier rode slowly next to me. He wouldn't stop pestering me about getting on the motorcycle.
"Okay! I'll get on the stupid motorcycle if you shut up!" I screamed, having enough of his constant bugging. I hopped on the motorcycle wrapping my arms loosely around his waist.
"Hold on tight Princess." He tells me, gunning the throttle, making me tighten my grip around his waist. It's only now that I notice how rock hard his stomach is. This makes me slightly blush, and luckily he can't see me. I knew that if he could, he definitely wouldn't miss the chance to make me blush even more.
Once we arrive at school, I see that everyone has turned to look at us. Me not liking being the center of attention, I quickly climb off the bike, murmur a thank you and rush into the school.
I could hear all the whispers and there was no doubt that they were about me.
"Jane!" I hear my name being called and turn around to see my best friend Macy running towards me. Macy and I have been best friends since kindergarten and she has always been there for me. She is almost the complete opposite of me, but I guess that's what keeps us so close.
"Have you heard about the new kid?" She asked me, seeming really interested in finding out about him.
"Um, he's actually my new neighbor." I said in annoyance.
"OMG! I am totally coming over tonight!" She says excitedly, jumping up and down. And here is the first difference between us. She is supper energetic and is always happy. Yuck. How can you be so happy all the time.
Ring. Ring. Shit! That was the bell, I'm probably going to be late since I have to go all the way across the school campus. First I have honors physics.
As I'm walking to class, I suddenly run into a brick wall. All of my books fell out of my arms and onto the floor. I look up, only to see no other than Xavier. And he has his signature smirk on.
"Princess, I know I'm hot, but there's no need for you to be falling at my feet." He says, smirking even bigger now. I swear his ego is bigger than anyone's that I've ever seen.
"What did I tell you about calling me princess?" I hissed at him. He was really starting to get on my nerves. So, I quickly picked up the books that I dropped, and went to go to my class, when I felt a hand grab my arm. I turned around to see that Xavier had grabbed my arm.
"What class do you have?" he asks me.
"Physics, what about you?" I answered, and his smirk once again appeared on his face.
"Same, can you please show me where the class is? I might even let you use me as an excuse of why you're late." he said. Of course we are in the same class. But maybe it will be worth it if he gets me out of trouble.
"And by the way, did you happen to look in the mirror today? It kind of looks like you woke up and then did nothing else with you're appearance." And there's the jerk that I first met. For some reason this really bothered me. I could feel tears starting to brim in the corners of my eyes. I had actually made a little bit of effort this morning. My mother had also said something similar to me, too. I didn't want to look like a baby, but when you get told things like this everyday, it starts to take a toll on you.
"Woah, Jane. Learn to take a joke. I was just kidding." He said, almost looking sympathetic. Emphasis on almost. I rushed past him, not responding, just wanting to get away. At this point I didn't care about missing first period.
Xavier
*******I just stand there, and watch her quickly walk away. Should I go after her? I think to myself, but then she slips in to what I assume is the girls bathroom, and decide to just wait outside of it.
As I'm sitting here I wonder about why she reacted the way she did to what I said. For some reason, I wanted to find out why. There was obviously something that I didn't know and I must have struck a nerve. I now know that I am going to find out her story.
