(two weeks later)
I'm in my childhood home, tied with a rope to my bed post. Ashley walks in and looks at me, then says, "It's what you get loser." She smirks then slams the door behind her, locking me in my room. The room where we had fun since we first met, where we never had any fights, first tried out make-up, all of those first days. Even the place where I told her about my crush. But it doesn't matter anymore. She was always behind my back, lying to me, and using me. I start wondering about all those memories. They play in my head like a movie. Half-way through, I feel water against my feet. It rises quickly and I try to break free of the rope, but it's no use. I stand up and look around for something to cut the rope with. The water is up to my waist when something bumps into me. I look down and it's the picture of me and Colton on our first date. He's looking at me and kissing my cheek while I hold the camera up. A tear slip down my cheek while I think I will never see him again. The water is up to my chest and I start screaming out, hoping someone could save me. The water is making my bed float. I hop onto the bed and see a knife laying on the pillow. I quickly swipe my feet under the pillow and kick it up. The knife lands right next to my hand. I'm able to pick it up and immediately start breaking the rope. I hear metal against metal and the rope turns into chains with a padlock. I hear someone calling my name and I immediately realize Colton is calling my name. "Sage! SAGE BABY WHERE ARE YOU!?" I look at the door and scream "Colton!" I slip underwater. The water rises all the way to the ceiling. My chain comes undone and I start to look around the room. I go to the door and try the handle, but after several attempts I fail. I see the window and swim over to it. I bang on the glass as much as I can but it's no use. I have too much water in my lungs and try to swim up to try to get a little air. There's no air left and I start to drown. I wait for someone to rescue me for one more time when I give up. My body floats in next to my window. I look over once more to look outside, thinking it's real, and thinking that I'll see the oak tree in the front with our white mailbox. I start to see black.
I wake up with a gasp and sit up. Briana slept with last night at the foot of my bed and looks up, wagging her tail a bit. I look at my alarm clock to check the time. It's only 4:38 in the morning. I have this pounding in my head and I slowly fall back. Briana comes over and curls into a ball. I slowly pet and say, "It's okay Bri. It was just a bad dream. And a really intense one too." She sneezes with makes me start laughing a bit. "You always like to cheer me up don't you girl." I smile and turn so I'm cuddling with her. I fall back to sleep hoping that I don't wake up again from another bad dream.
I wake up at eight and sit up. I didn't even have another dream. If I did, I certainly don't remember it. I get out of bed and take a quick shower. It takes me a few minutes to get out, but I finally do.....somehow. I change into some shorts, a tee, and put my hair into french braid pigtails. I keep my glasses on and walk downstairs with Bri. I make some cereal and watch some Tom and Jerry. I get a text from Colton confirming out little picnic at the beach today. I text back with a winking emoji and turn my attention back to Tom and Jerry.
I fell asleep on the stinking couch again. Colton wakes me up with a worried expression and I run upstairs to puke. He runs up beside and me and asks, "When is your next appointment for your concussion?" "Sometime this week. It should be on the fridge." He nods and helps me make my bed. We climb onto it and just chill for a bit. I see the time, jump up and say, "Our picnic!" Colton just takes my waist and pulls me back. "You aren't like you could even make it to the beach Sage. We can just stay here and eat." I look at him and ask, "Are you sure?" "Of course." I lean back and rest my head on his shoulder. "I love you." I manage to whisper. "He kisses me and replies, "I love you too."
Sorry for the short chapter!
