At first it was a bit awkward but only because of the fact that there was a pretty girl in the room, and that always makes me say something incredibly stupid.
But we talked and talked for hours, she's a good talker and I feel like I know everything about her.
The first thing we talked about was our shared love of peach iced tea. I told her that we already have one thing in common and showed her my collection of all my peach iced tea bottles. She placed down her cup on the table beside her. "So, what about you. Tell me something about you". She said, as she swept her hair behind her ear. I could really see her whole face now, she glows.
"What do you want to know ?" I said.
"Um, what do you want to be when your older?"
"Well, me and my friend have a band sorta thing. We just cover songs at the moment but I'm hoping that takes off and we get better".
"Can you play me something?".
I wanted to, I really did. I wanted to sing the song that I wrote for her - all two sentences of it - but when I sing I get emotional and I don't want her to see that side of me yet.
"I will, i promise, but not today".
"Come on shy boy, please?".
"I've left my guitar at Jcs anyway, I can't".
She looked at me with a cheeky grin on her face, "sure, sure", she said as she got up and looked around for the stairs. She found them and she sprinted up them. I shot up off the lounge and chased after her, hoping she wouldn't find it so I wouldn't have to play.
"Nova , what are you doing its not up there, I told you it's at Jcs!" I laughed.
"Then why are you so worried chasing after me huh?" She said, that cheeky smile on her face appeared again.
She opened the door to my bedroom, lucky I cleaned it this morning. She looks around and finally, she grabs it. She comes over to me with a fake frown on her face. "Liar".
She passes me the guitar right into my chest. Her fingers are still wrapped around its neck, mine also and her hand touches mine. We're so close the only thing between us is the guitar. I was so tempted to kiss her beautiful lips, but I couldn't, not yet.
I break the eye contact and look down and the guitar.
"Fine. I'll play something. But I'm warning you, I get emotional when I sing, even a happy song, so don't laugh at me. "
"I'm not gonna laugh at you Kian".
I say on my bed and she sat next to me, our knees centimetres apart from touching. I cleared my throat and started singing all about you by McFly.
I could tell she was staring at me, I could feel her gaze. I finished the song and looked at her, I was right she was staring right at me.
"How was that", I say breaking the silence.
"Kian, that was beautiful, your an amazing singer".
"I'm better at guitar, Jc usually does the singing". I say putting the guitar on the other side of me.
"Well, if your that good and he's better than you guys are gonna go very far, your amazing". She said placing her hand on my knee. I didn't know if it was a friendly gesture or something more but I felt like it was too soon for anything, despite how badly I wanted to.
"Thank you". I said.
"What's your family like? Do you have any siblings?" she said, removing her hand.
"My family is broken to be honest" I said laughing under my breath. "My mum and my dad are split up, and I have an older sister called Lyra".
"I'm sorry about your parents".
"My mum is better off without him anyway. What about you what's your family like? Less stuffed up them mine?"
"Um, my parents are both dead. I have an older brother but I don't really see him much".
"Woah, I'm so sorry about your parents. So you live alone in that big house?"
"Yeah, my family used to come here every once in a while, they had the house and didn't sell it soI'm just living here now".
"Where were you living before?"
"Well after my parents died three years ago, I moved in with my great aunt. But she lost her memory and she couldn't look after me anymore. My brother offered me to live with him for a bit but he lives in my old town, and I can't live there and face all the memories of mum and dad. So yeah, I live by myself, but it's okay I don't mind it. I get a little lonely sometimes though.."
"Your not going to be lonely anymore Nova".
