Chapter 10

Alexa's POV

I bolted up out of bed. Sweating, panting, and shaking. Calum turned on the lamp next to our bed and got out.

"Shhh baby it was only a dream" he cooed.

"But it felt so real" I said while crying into his chest.

"It's gonna be okay."

I nodded my head and peeked at the time. 4:00 in the morning. Why is this dream always at this time?

Then the baby monitor went off. Persephone was crying and me and Calum both went to the nursery.

I wiped away my tears as I picked up the two month old and put her on the changing table.

She started to stir and Calum distracted her. When I was done I cradled Persephone in my arms as Calum wrapped his arm around me.

Persephone yawned and slowly closed her eyes. Quickly and quietly I put her in her crib and we left her sound asleep.

"Hey baby lets go out for breakfast. My mom and sister flew in last night and they want to meet Persephone."

"Okay Cal. Where are we going?"

"To David's Diner"

"I love that place"

"Me too" he said while kissing me.

By now it's 6 in the morning and I decided to take a shower and get dressed. I put on the mom usual.

T-shirt and yoga pants. Literally me, Elle, Meg, and Brooke match almost all the time.

Calum sat on the bed pulling his black converse on while I went to go brush out my hair.

He was wearing black skinny jeans, his NASA shirt and a beanie.

I pulled on a black beanie and put my glasses on.

8 AM

Persephone was in the swing and I picked her up.

Grabbing her outfit i get her undressed and put on her onsie and tutu. Quickly I brush her hair and put a headband on.

"CAL CAN YOU GET THE DIAPER BAG, CARSEAT AND STROLLER?" I yell

"YEAH" he shouts back.

He comes into the living room with the diaper bag and the car seat as I take the car seat and set it on the couch.

Then I put Persephone into the car seat and buckled her in.

Calum unlocked the front door and walked to the car. Then he opened the trunk of the car, put the stroller in and went to lock the front door as I attached the car seat to its base.

I got into the passenger side of the car and Calum got in the drivers side.

He started the car and I rested my head on the window.

The ride was going to be about an hour so we've got time to kill.

Slowly I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Calum's POV

Alexa fell asleep. She's been having these weird dreams lately but she won't tell me what they're about.

Persephone is just a bundle of joy. I'd never think I'd have this much fun being a parent. But I can't wait for my mom and sister to meet her.

I'm planing on proposing to Alexa. But we're gonna be in Disney. So my mom and sister are gonna watch Persephone when me and Alexa take the trip next month.

We pulled up to the diner and I pulled into a parking spot.

"Lex were here" I said while tapping her.

She opened one eye and then sat up and opened the other. She then stretched and opened the door.

After this I plan on taking Alexa, my mom, and sister to a fair close by.

My mom and sister stood in the doorway of the diner as I went to the trunk of the car and pulled out the stroller.

I unfolded it and wheeled it to Alexa. She smiled at me and hooked the car seat into place.

I pushed the stroller towards the doors and Alexa greeted my mom and sister.

"Oh Alexa were so happy to see you darling. Did Calum put a ring on it yet? I'm gonna slap him if he didn't" my mom said.

"We're glad to see you too and no need to slap him yet"

"Okay sweetie. Where's my granbaby I want to see her"

"Mom calm down she's sleeping" I say while pulling up the visor to reveal a sleeping baby.

"Oh my god how precious. She's a doll. You two have a great chemistry" my mom said

I could feel my cheeks heating up and Alexa giggled.

"So my brothers finally a dad" Mali said

"Yup. Now when am I gonna be an uncle"

"When the time comes. Good comes to the ones who wait" Mali said.

"Yeah now let's get in shall we" I say.

They all nod as we walk into the diner. A waiter takes us to a table but let's us tag the stroller so we can leave it by the entrance.

He gives us a food thingie to let us set the car seat in.

Alexa sits next to me, then my mom in front of me and Mali in front of Alexa.

"So Alexa... Calum. I hear you need babysitters" my mom said

"Hmm?" Alexa said

"Yeah in a few weeks"

"Calum what's going on?"

"Okay do you know the exact dates yet?" My mom asked

"Not yet but I have to discuss with Alexa"

"Calum care to explain" Alexa said

"Me and you are going on vacation. The destination is top secret until we get there of course."

"Okay" she said while squinting her eyes

Persephone started to cry and I took her out of the car seat. Alexa dug in the diaper bag and pulled out a bottle and a bib.

"May I?" Asked Mali.

"Sure" Alexa said with a smile on her face.

I handed Persephone to my sister and Alexa have her the bib and bottle once she was settled in.

I looked at Alexa and kissed her. She kissed back and we disconnected when the food came out to our table.
