Chapter four

I raced out of the car as soon as niall parked the car. " youre welcome." He yelled

" yeah thanks for the ride."

" and....."

" thats all you did" , and with that i walked into the apartment.

Arriving to the third floor i resched into my pocket to take out my keys, but was quickly shoved into the wall with my arms behind my back. " you forgot to mention the part where i saved that sexy ass of yours babe." He whispered in my ear.

" what the fuck niall! Get off me. You didnt save my ass, i had everything under control."

Well that hit a nerve, he roughly turned me around and pressed my back to the wall with his. He burried his face into my neck, and bit into my earlobe. " ofcourse you did babe and this-" he jestured to my busted lip, and brused jaw," totaly proves it."

I shoved him back at this point to the other side of the wall so now he was pinned, " listen here, you dont know me or my story. Stay the hell away from me and we wont have a problem. This was fun for the day, and it certainly wasnt the first time i fought max, so chill out. I dont need daddy to protect me."

He took ahold of my face and looked dead into my eyes, " listen here princess, you left his gang. So the only way to keep you alive would be to get you a position in my gang. So im your only choice. Unless you want your precious boyfriend to hurt you i sudjest you keep this with you at all times. Oh and heres my number text me when you go to sleep so i know your fine." He winked, and then pecked my lips before walking away.

Before i had any chance to react someone grabbed my arm and dragged me inside the house. " ahh did that just happen, i totally saw him kiss you. Dude hes hot. Are you two daiting? Why didnt you tell me? Omg! What happened to your face? Aria! Why the fuck do you have a gun? Omg, your a killer! Ahh-"

"Red! Chill one thing at a time. Okay, breathe. Okay, so he didnt kiss me he pecked my lips, why? I dont know. We are not going out. And as i was walking home from uni i saw a fight and as i passed by someone accidently hit my face. And in the end of this all i found a gun on the floor and i kept it." I lied

"Babe, why did you keep it? And come here let me take care of your face."

We walked into the kitchen where she took a damp towel and cleaned my blood stained lip. " i kept it so no one found it, meaning someone bad. Dont worry munchkin, ill give it to the police tom. We dont have class right?"

"No we only have class twice a week, the rest will be emailed to us." She finished cleaning my lip and grabbed an icepack from the freeser. Handing it to me we both walked to he couch.

I'm glad she bought my lie. Star thinks I'm a good girl. She was my only friend here, I couldn't handle telling her my dark past and scaring her away. So I never told her, and as far as I'm concerned, I never will. Then max found me, and since he was an old family friend, I joined his gang. He told me i was a good fighter since my brother trained me, and he could use me for help. So I began doing gymnastics to give me an advantage, and capoeira. But he began to act tough, and I don't take that shit from people. And now here we are.

I walked to my room and emailed my professors apologizing for not going to my first day, and asked them for my assignments. Seconds later they replied and i began to work.

I didnt sleep at all last night, it was now 9:12am and I knew I wasn't going to get anymore sleep. I did my morning business in the bathroom, grabbed breakfast and guitar, leaving star a note to where I was. I walked out of my apartment, still in my pjs, and I walked all the way to the last floor of the building. I walked down the lightless hallway and walked up to the door labeled," roof". I stood on my tippy toes, grabbed my knife and opened the door. They alway had it locked but being amazing as i am I knew how to pick it.

I always came here to think, I found this place once when I was running away from a fight with max and I've been coming here ever since. No one except star, and I know about this place so its my personnel space. I walked over to the edge of the roof and sat down jerking my legs over the edge. Placing my guitar on my lap, I began to strum the tunes to a familiar tune i would always sing to block out my parents' piercing scream.

Pretty soon i found myself singing along." If I wake up and it's late love go back to sleep, I'm covered by nature and I'm safe now, underneath this oak tree with you beside me. And if I kiss you would you mouth speak this truth darling how I miss you, strawberries taste how lips do, and its not complete yet mustn't get out feet wet, cuz that leads to regret diving in too soon, and I owe it all to you oh my little bird. Myy little bird. You my little bird." I strummed the last note of the song and I realised I was crying. This song always brought painful memories, and I never let myself cry, but it was all too much.

Suddently I heard clapping from behind me and my whole body stiffed. " wow babe, I never knew you could sing. It makes you that much hotter. "
