Broken

Allure

My eyes didn't want to open, but the most amazing smells surrounded me. I open my eyes and I don't recognize anyone in the suite but there's a great deal going on.

"Miss Lewis, My name is Gary Lowell, I'm apart of Nate's security detail. I took the liberty of ordering you some lunch. After you eat, Mendy here has brought over some clothing and things for you to wear and also some toiletries." I glanced over at the woman he referred to as Mendy and she smiled warmly.

"Wow, he really didn't have to go through all this trouble for me." I looked down at my hands. When I'm nervous, I have a tendency to fumble with my fingers.

"Look Miss Lewis, we have a great boss and he wanted us to bring this stuff for you and make you as comfortable as possible so just enjoy." Mendy said coming over and sitting next to me on the couch. She was pretty. She was about the same age as me, Spanish with long dark brown hair. She seemed really nice.

"I'd feel a lot better if you guys would call me Allure."

"Sure thing," Gary said opening the dishes in front of me and revealing a pasta of some sort. Whatever it was it smelled amazing and the garlic bread looked heavenly. I had been living on a Roman Noodle diet. That's what I ate in college. Then after I was forced to resign my job because of the situation with Gregory, he rarely brought home much more for me but noodles.

"This is a little overwhelming, but I really appreciate what you guys are doing for me." I didn't realize I was crying until Mendy reached out and swiped a tear from my face.

"Don't cry Allure, everything will be okay, I look forward to having another female around, it gets lonely on the road. We look like we're about the same age, I'm 25."
For the first time in years, I felt as if things might actually be looking up. I didn't know if Nate intended to keep me around, but I could hold my own weight if I needed too. I could convince him, I could be an asset to his team for whatever it is he did.
"I'm 25 as well." I smile at Mendy. She makes a happy squeal and then squeezes me and I immediately wince in pain.

"Oh my gosh Allure, I'm so sorry. I forgot about your injuries." She gets up and goes to a rack of clothing. "You go ahead and eat and I'm going to show you some clothing. You tell me if you like the items or not and whatever you like we'll put in a keep pile. Now, over here is a bag of toiletries. I didn't know what you liked so I got you some of my favorite scents from Victoria Secrets and Bath and body works. Wait until you try this sea scrub! It will do wonders for your aches and pains. Also I looked at you and figured you were about a 5/6 in underwear and what are you, about a 34DD?" I look up from my plate totally embarrassed to be talking underwear in front of Gary the security guy. He shrugs nonchalantly.

"Don't worry about Gary, he's a big teddy bear, but if anyone tries to get near you, he'll become a grizzly."
Gary didn't seem fazed by her comment. I looked over at him. He was handsome just like Nate. He was much more bulked up than Nate but he was a nice looking guy.
For the next twenty minutes, Mendy shows me a series of outfits and I nod yes or no, while devouring the pasta dish in front of me. It was divine. I picked up the sprite and took several sips before sitting the cup back down.
Mendy grabs one of the outfits from the keeps pile and hands it to me along with the bag of toiletries and under garments.

"The hot tub is full of warm water and a sea salt that will help ease some of your pain. Go ahead and freshen up. I left a new toothbrush and toothpaste as well as some mouthwash on the sink for you. There's also a white robe in there for you. Take as long as you want. I'm going to take the stuff you don't want back and I'll see you in a little while. Gary will make sure you are well taken care of. Nate said if you needed anything, just have it charged to the room. It was nice meeting you Allure, I hope we can be friends."

"I'd like that." I said accepting the items from Mendy and hurrying in the direction of the bathroom. Once inside, I carefully unwrapped my ribs and removed the clothing I had on, wincing all the way. I looked in the mirror. The swelling in my eye had went down and I was left with a small black line under my eye. My hair was all over the place. I quickly secured it with some hair accessories I found on the sink next to the toothbrush and things of that nature. I removed some deodorant and body wash and lotion from the bag. I took a sniff and smiled.
The past few years, everything I've done has been centered around Greg. It wasn't that Greg gave me or did for me. Before Greg, I had a good job as a journalist. I kept up appearances. I loved nice smelling stuff. Greg made me wear baggy clothes. He said he didn't want men looking at my body, because it belonged to him. I sat the lotion on the counter and took the body wash to the tub as I sunk into the water and sighed as the wonderful feeling of being submerged in the water made my body feel amazing. The aches and pains were easing in my arms and legs although my ribs still hurt a bit. I laid my head back on the tub and closed my eyes. I wish I have the luxuries of this regularly, but I know this isn't going to last forever. But for now, I'll just enjoy this. Yeah, I'll just enjoy it, while I can because I know pretty soon, Greg will find me, and I'll be dead and gone.
