The Trees

5 0 1

The branches against my face

Pushing my hair down and through my soul

Brown,red,silver,black

All inside my heart.

It's uncertain, my future

I don't even know where I am.

Am I home or am I lost?

Only the trees know the answer

So I bike

So I walk

Asking, Whispering, Yelling

At the trees to please answer me

They speak in whispers so foreign

So only the birds understand their words.

To the birds I cannot speak

To my efforts they mockingly crow

Their secretive wings

Are thrown upon my face

Until I am lost

And once again

Only the trees know the answer
