After their adventures with their friends had finally come to a halt, Piper and Jason decided to make some time for themselves. They settled for a camping trip - just the two of them together in a beautiful forest.

As they unpacked their belongings and supplies from the car, Piper smiled cheerfully. She was looking forward to spending some quality time with her boyfriend. She just hoped nothing bad would happen to them during their trip. They were still demigods, after all. Nowhere was safe for them, really. Even Camp Half-Blood had been invaded before.

Jason unloaded the heavy bags from the trunk of the car. He glanced at Piper, who was smiling, and grinned to himself. He was going to make sure Piper thoroughly enjoyed their small vacation. It had been so stressful for the past couple....years, really. He turned to her after the car was empty and put an arm over her shoulder.

Piper pressed herself into Jason's warm shoulder and turned, hugging him with all her might.

"Pipes," Jason laughed, "you're crushing me."

"I know," she murmured in response, giggling. She let him go and ran a hand through his blonde hair and along the small scar along his upper lip.

Jason laughed fondly at her obvious display of affection. He ran his own hand through Piper's silky, sleek brown hair, gazing into her kaleidoscope-colored eyes.

"Anyway, this is our vacation, so what do you want to do?" Jason asked, pulling away slightly. "We can do anything you want; we finally have the freedom to do the things we want!"

Piper thought for a moment. "Hmm...I'm not sure. I'm always thinking about having free time, but I guess I don't know what to do even on the few occasions when we do have it." She paused. "You pick something!"

Jason chuckled, his mind running through all the possible activities until it stopped on one he thought Piper and himself would both enjoy.

"I think I have an idea," Jason said, and took Piper's hand into his own. Piper looked at him, excited.

"Really? Where are we going?" she asked, intrigued.

"You'll see," Jason grinned. He led her forward, away from their camping site and their car, and Piper finally had a chance to admire the landscape. Trees surrounded their little clearing, lush and green, swaying in the wind. Birds chirped everywhere, and the beautiful sounds of nature engulfed them. The weather was warm, with a slight breeze in the air - the best kind of day there was, in Piper's opinion.

Jason kept leading her up, up, up the mountain - until they finally reached a beautiful cliff. When they exited the shroud of trees that had been surrounding them since they left, Piper's eyes widened; it was so breathtakingly beautiful. Jason put an arm around her, sensing her sense of awe.

The cliff, not too high from the ground, overlooked a beautiful lake that was surrounded by green trees, wildflowers of every color, and several miniature waterfalls. The sun was just starting to set. It was bright enough that everything was still lit by the bright rays, but the horizon was starting to turn a fantastic shade of purple.

Piper sucked in a breath. "Jason," she whispered, "it's so beautiful..." she paused, taking in the view. "How did you know about this?"

Jason grinned at Piper. "Let's just say I've been planning this vacation for a long time."

Piper laughed, delighted. "Of course you have. But seriously, this is amazing, Jason. I don't know how you could possibly top this; you've really outdone yourself!"

"Anything for you, Pipes," he said, shining with pride. "But I think I actually can top this."

Piper turned to face him, confused. "What are you talking ab- JASON!"

Jason had wrapped his arms around Piper and lifted her off the ground. For a moment, she panicked - then she remembered with a pang of relief that Jason was the son of Zeus and that he could fly.

"Don't worry, Pipes," Jason laughed. "I've got you."

Piper giggled along with him, before saying, "You have better got me, Jason Grace. I don't want to fall a hundred feet to my death."

Jason chuckled. "You know I would never...WOAH!"

Jason quickly and deliberately dipped down, causing Piper to yelp and clutch onto Jason tighter. "Jason, you jerk!" she yelled, hitting him lightly on the the chest, laughing all the while.

Jason burst out laughing. "You know I would never."

Piper snorts. "You'd better not," she muttered, still smiling. Then she said, "Wait, what if there are other people here?" she paused. "Did you do something with the Mist?"

"Yeah," Jason replied. "I wouldn't risk that. If people saw a teenage boy flying through the sky, they would probably either 1) shoot me, 2) take pictures, or 3) lose their minds...none of which are good."

          Piper laughed.

Jason and Piper enjoyed the amazing view of the mountain from their high vantage point. It was an amazing sight to see the beautiful, turquoise blue water and all the stunning multicolored wildflowers up close.

Soon, Jason got tired and they decided to head back to their camping site. The sun was just beginning to set, casting orange light on the forest floor.

When they got back, Jason pulled out a picnic basket and collected some firewood from around the clearing.

"Sometimes I wish Leo was here," Jason laughed. "He could have helped up start a fire."

Piper giggled. "Oh, don't forget setting fire to the whole forest too!"

          Jason chuckled. "Yeah, that too."

When they finally had a fire going, Piper and Jason sat down and ate their meal together. Piper leaned in suddenly and kissed Jason, who, surprised at first, closed his eyes and responded, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting embrace. Piper pulled away, smiling. She knew that in a couple days, they would have to go back and face reality. There would no doubt be some monster uprising or rebellion starting soon, which meant more adventures for them and the rest of the team. Piper and Jason both knew this. For the moment, though, they were content to just sit there in the other's company, laughing and talking.

"I love you, Jason," Piper murmured. "Thank you so much for this trip. It's been amazing so far."

Jason grinned. "I love you, too, Piper. Like I said before, anything for you." He paused. "Besides, we have a lot more to do during this vacation. You haven't seen anything yet!"

They looked into each other's eyes lovingly, sharing another kiss in the midst of the beautiful, magical, nature-filled forest.
