Romans POV
I heard a scream that echoed throughout my mind. I knew who's scream that was, ever since I met her, I knew what she could do. And it scared me. Her abilities were always thought to be unable to do, only one person that I knew of had those abilities, and they were long since dead. She was the One, that was foretold of long ago. The One who would bring everything to me. No, it can't be her, she can't be the one I am meant to choose. She isn't of this life, she wouldn't survive, but the connection she has with Joelle, I can't deny that made me happy to see my daughter connecting with someone.
As I walked downstairs the next morning, I heard my mothers voice, "Sweetheart, be patient with him, I know your abilities are unusual but he is very protective of his daughter," Lisa said.
"I understand, but it scared me that he was yelling at her. I'm sorry, but I could never do that to my daughter."
"You've got to understand, he's been raising Joelle by himself for her entire life."
" I do understand that, I have been raising my daughter for her entire life too," I said standing up and turning into Romans broad chest.
"Sorry," I mumbled, walking around him.
He caught my wrist, "Walk with me."
I nodded.
As we went outside he said, "I'm sorry about yesterday with Joelle, it's just that I'm not used to all these people being in my home. And I'm sorry for snapping at you about your abilities. So to make it up to you I had this set up."
"Mommy," Hope squealed, running to me.
I mouthed thank you to Roman who came up beside us and knelt down and said, "Hello."
"Hi," Hope said burying her face into my neck.
"Would you like to meet my daughter?"
Hope nodded, taking his hand, gripping mine.

We walked inside, Roman leading us to Joelle's room. "Melissa," she squealed.
"Hi, Joelle, this is my daughter, Hope."
"Momma, will you stay with me?" Hope said tears forming in her eyes.
Joelle pulled Roman down, "Yeah, please can you both stay and play with us?"
Roman nodded, sighing.

Hours later, Hope was beginning to get tired, Roman said, " Why doesn't she spend the night? She can stay with you."
"Thank you," I said, kissing his cheek. As my hand lingered on his cheek, he pulled me flush against him. His eyes darkened, his hands gripping my waist. My wolf whined, wanting more, as he let me go. Hope and I went to my room. She fell asleep immediately, I laid next to her, pulling her into my side, falling into a deep slumber, the only dream I had that night, was of Joelle, Hope, Roman and myself, the howling of my wolf getting increasingly longingly of the desire for this.
