The Selection announcement

Melissa's POV

We all sat at the restaurant awaiting the announcement that was going to be on the television in just a few moments. I mean this would be a great opportunity for my daughter and myself, but I'm not sure if he would be who I would chose for her. But I mean her father is already dead. I couldn't bear if someone hurt her. "Melissa, are you ok?" Gretchen asked.
"Yeah, just wondering who will get chosen." I answered.
"If anyone deserves it is you, you would be a great choice for him."
"Yeah, me be chose, I hope not, I'd never fit in there," I replied.
"You do realize he is your boss? And....oh shit, why the hell is Seth and Dean here?"
I turned around and saw them walking towards a table in the back, "Do you want me to see if they need something?"
"Yeah," Gretchen said,"and don't be a smartass to those two, they'd likely have Roman fire you."
I walked towards the back, grabbing a pen and paper. "Hi," I said nervously, " Can I get you anything?"
"Please sit down, we need to talk to you," Seth said.
As I sat down Dean leaned forward and said,"What makes you think you'd be a good selection for Alpha Roman?"
"Me? I'm sorry but I don't understand, why would I be selected?"
"Sweetheart, what Dean here meant to say is, we believe that you would be a great selection for Alpha Roman. You see this is a chance to improve your life."
"I see," tears welling up in my eyes, "I'm sorry, but I'm not in this to better my life, I love what I do, and I love being with my family," I said standing up and walking away.
Gretchen grabbed my arm, "What happened? Where are you going?"
"Home," I replied.

Gretchens POV
I followed Melissa, Dean and Seth, I knew she was scared to leave, but there has to be a reason she's been chosen. She's always been so loyal to those around her, and she loves them to a fault. Especially her ex, I mean he is the father of her child. But her and Roman together, they have the same kind of painful past, can they help heal each other? I think Melissa is who Galina would want him to be with, Melissa reminds me a lot of her.
