The next morning, I got up early, wondering why Henry hadn't already been crying. I looked over to the crib, and began to worry. He wasn't there. I walked into the front room, to find that, low and behold, admiral Jones was holding my son. Killian looked up, and immediately handed Henry to me.
"I'm sorry, Swan. He was getting fussy, and I didn't want you to have to get up. I know you have your interview at the station today, so I thought you would want some rest. It was poor judgment, and I should have thought it through." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Hey, you were just looking out for me. What I said about not touching Henry, well, let's not worry about that anymore. I trust you." I said, pulling my son to my chest. Killian smirked at me and stood up. He once again tried to kiss me, but once again, I shot him down.
"I said the rule about touching Henry was out the window. Wait until Saturday night. I may let you kiss me." I said, smiling at him.
"When do you have to be at the station?" He asked. I tilted my head, and thought.
"Oh! I have to be there at twelve. That reminds me, I need to call Regina and see if she can watch Henry. I pulled out my phone and swiped up to unlock it.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, dropping my phone and grabbing my hand.
"Bloody hell Swan! What happened?" Killian asked.
"Well, you got the bloody part right. I cut my hand on the crack on my phone screen." Killian picked up my phone, keeping it in his hand.
He walked into his room and grabbed a piece of cloth. He came back out, phone in one hand, and the long fabric in the other he knelt down on one knee, wrapping the fabric tightly around my hand. As he tied it, his lips brushed against my skin. Chills raced down my spine, making me shiver. Killian stood to his feet, smiling at me. He pulled out his phone, and handed it to me. I turned it on, and saw a picture of Killian and another woman.
"Who is this?" I asked, almost yelling.
"Woah Swan, she was my first love. Back when I lived in Ireland, I proposed to her, and then, a month later, she was stabbed and killed by the local thread spinner. Apparently, she was his ex wife. Her name was Milah." He said, glossy eyed. I reached over and grabbed his hand. He looked up at me, and I could see the tears, falling from his eyes.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered, looking down at my feet. Great Emma, just another screw up moment for you. You made the guy cry, OUT OF JEALOUSY!!! For all you know, she could be alive, and they could be married! And have kids!!!
"It's ok, Emma. You were just curious." He said, placing a hand on my shoulder.

At the sheriff's station...
"Well, you must be Emma. I'm Graham Hunter, New York sheriff." The man in the uniform said, shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you." I replied.
"Before you got here, I did a background check, and I saw you were arrested at the age of twenty six for possession of stolen property." Graham said, opening a file that was most likely mine.
"My boyfriend at the time bought me a watch, but he didn't know that the guy he bought it from stole it. I did one year of hard time." I said, explaining the arrest.
"It also says that you were pregnant?" He asked.
"Ya. I was two months along when I was convicted, but by that time, the father was dead." I said, trying to will away the tears.
"I'm sorry. Do you mind if I ask what happened?" He said.
"Pardon my rudeness, but does that really concern you?" I said, my temper slowly rising.
"No, it doesn't. So far, everything checks out. Congratulations, you start on Monday. Welcome to the squad." He said, standing up and once again shaking my hand. He handed me a deputy badge and I left.
I walked out to my car, and when I went to call Killian, I realized I had left my phone at the apartment. I picked Henry up from Regina's house, and got back to my place. It was two in the afternoon, so I put Henry down for a nap. I went to grab my phone from Killian, but he didn't have it. I went into my room, to find a small wrapped box on my nightstand. I cautiously unwrapped it, to see my phone, good as new. Killian had gone out and paid for it to get fixed.
"You like it, Love?" Killian asked from the door. I turned to him and smiled.
"You didn't have to do this Killian. I promise, I'll pay you back." I said.
"No need. It's ok, I wanted to. Don't want my Swan to injure herself again."
