The companions had a firm belief that Whatever happened in this world happened because Allah willed it to happen. Nothing happens without his will. They had grown such a strong faith that the means and strategies were meaningless in their eyes. When anyone shows this degree of faith than Allah lets him observe his marvelous power. This is the way of Allah. The more you depend on the means and agencies, the more he will leave you tied to them, and the more you rely on Him alone the more he will relieve you of those things and show you the marvels of his power. the lives of the Holy Prophet peace be upon him and his companions peace be upon them were a practical demonstration of this fact.
