Lucifer Pov

Living in Randell seemes nice. The town is filled with nice people and the houses are nice. The food is nice and the economic is nice. Randell is overall a happy, nice place. How is know this, you might ask. Beacuse I observe it every day.

I live in a broken, old, shitty wagon, by the local market. I am a street rat that dreams of living in one of the warm, thached wodden houses of Randell. So you can imagine how happy I am now, when I am soon going into the nicest house of Randell. The King's castle, the glory of this town.

Now it is summer and the King's men take all thirteen year old children into the castle to find out what element they resemble. I think that I will resemble eather air or earth. Often the element that is yours gives you a sertain personality-trait. Often the fire-kids are noble and brave. Not me, the cat that lives in the marked-stand on my left is more noble and knight like then me. The water-kids are intelligent and the air-children good with words. The earth-kids are often calm or sentered.

Today is the day I will find my element and meet the king. I'm waiting outside of the throne room, in some kind of dressing room, maybe. The Knights gave me a light gray shirt of linen and some brown pants. I feel kind of formal, my normal clothing is ripped and very dirty. I had also bathed, so my normally dirt-brown hair had gained it's original color, red.

"Lucifer, step inside!" I hear a voice, a knight, say. I step into the throne room and it is the most beautiful room I have ever seen. The floor is of marmot and the walls too. There are big, bright windows with red, velvet curtains and the throne is lined with gold. On the throne sits the king. He is maybe in his 30's, regal looking in his golden armor and blue cape. "Let the tests begain."

Every child must go through a lot of tests before you get to know your element. Why, I don't know! But I have to do them. They made me run, shoot an arrow of a bow, swing a sword, lift some weights, read from a book and write a text.
Then they asked me a bunch of questions about myself and what I knew about the elements. The Knights clearly judged me, both of my looks and how is did on the tests.

Most people in Randell have eather blonde or brown hair, so my red hair makes me just more of an outcast. On top of that, I'm not muscular and did not do very well at the physical tests. I can read however. "So, Lucifer, what is your last name?" a knight asked. "I don't know, I don't think I have one. My parents are dead!" The knight looked at me like I was cowered in dirt. Orphans are not normal in Randell.

At last I was brought into the element-room. It is a dark, mysterious room where they keep the elementstone. If you touch the elementstone you will know what element has chosen you. One of the knights gave me a little chest, which I opened. Inside there was a little clear, light gray stone, the size of an apple. I picked it up and the room stared shaking.

I fell on to my knees in pain, the stone was burning hot. But still I could not drop it. The knights started screaming and the room just got hotter and hotter. I saw a vision of me standing on a cliff with fire in my hands, my body ingulfed in flames. Then I realized my body was on fire, in the real world. I tried to stand up and the stone dropped from my hands.

The Knights looked at my with fear, one of them running out of the room yelling. Slowly the fire died, surprisingly it had done no harm. The king came into the room and took a long stare at me and my smoking hair. Then he said:
"We have found the new firemaster, the last element bender from the prophecy!"
